I was wondering what I might be doing this evening and I can wonder no more. Man, this is getting tough spending an evening listening to some of my favorites after they've passed. Might have to make it the entire weekend as I did for Tom Petty.

I know this sounds strange but I am relieved that he didn't take his own life or have some drug overdose. Too many taking that way out and when your perception is "this guy had everything, why would he do that" it shakes your world. He had a good life and from seeing his family, he lived it right. 70 still seems too young, especially to someone hitting 72 in less than a week as it brings mortality front and center.

But I am left to wonder with his voice the way it was and singing and at times straining it, did that contribute to the type of cancer he had? Make him more susceptible to that?
