***Rip on Romo Thread***

End of the day, Romo is a good QB, but he's not a great QB.

He's no Staubach or Aikman.

Also, I don't think we're going to win the Super Bowl with him at the helm. And I hate thinking this. I can't see him putting 3-4 games together against top defenses, in pressure situations, and not messing up.

Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about it. I think we'll probably end up around 8-8, and we'll likely go next season with Romo as the starting QB. The best Garrett can do and try to put Romo in "good" situations and "protect" him when he can.

That's the way it is, imo.

Yep.....your opinion is spot on.

Exactly how did we throw away the season last year without Romo?

Putting in Kitna is not the answer though. Try to draft a future QB and go from there.

Romo's a millionaire, with a smoking hot wife, and a good golf swing.

He'll shrug his shoulders and move on with his life. Plain and simple.

Naw, I think he really wants this thing. I dont think he will shrug it off like no big deal. However, hes 31 and if he hasnt learned by now, he probably will never learn. Like he always says, either youre good enough to play the position or youre not.

OH shut up. That's the best defensive performance we've seen from the team in some time. The offense turned the ball over and couldn't gain any field position.

If that's the best you've seen, then that must be the only game you've watched. It was great early, but just as bad late. They didn't even have to play defense for the entire 3rd quarter almost. Basically you're saying they can only play defense when the offense is moving the ball well, but without great field position they can't be relied upon...and you're telling me to shut up?

Would be great if we could draft a QB in the first round and he could sit behind Romo for a year or two. Kinda like when Packers drafted Rodgers to sit behind Favre. Romo isn't leaving anytime soon, which is why this is best case scenario!

No, these If and Buts are funny. Call a spade a Spade here. If my aunt had some B... she would be my uncle too. Its playing situational football, knowing when to take risk and when not to.

That Bobby Carpenter Int was the killer, regardless of how Houston play was, still a Int. Witten Int was just blah, par for the course for Romo. When he is bad, he is just terrible. Somehow he can't limit it to one mistake.

And we as fans have to realize, what everyone else who is not a fan of Cowboys saying is true. He is a choker. No longer is coaching an excuse. You just can't trust him. He can be awesome and dreaful in a span of a game itself, as seen by today's game.

Bottom line, he is cannot be trusted. You cannot win consistently or win Playoffs with a QB like that. No amount of Mea Culpas are going to do it.

Yet his last 2 Int's were not bad plays. He was not forcing a ball where it should not have been or throwing into double coverage. FAct of the matter is TR gives this team its best chance to win. Kitna doesn't do it, Palmer doesn't do it, Gerrard doesn't do it and no way are we even thinking about Luck.

LOL!

You are an idiot.

Take your sorry imbecilic arse somewhere else. You look like a total fool.

And you said not targeted. Not targeted "enough". You are a joke.

He has no idea what he's talking about, but he's too stubborn to change his opinion in the face of the facts.

It would not surprise me a bit, anyone that has watched over the past 5 years would not be surprised, thing is, even if he wins, it means very little. We've seen it all before.

.....but not this year. Your head is clear and opinions accurate. We could rip off 5, 7, or 9 wins in a row and it won't MATTER in the end. He'll do it again: it's just who he is. I don't hate him, it' just....depressing and frustrating. Trade him to someone desperate for QB in a city that doesn't have such a microscopic media horde: maybe Kansas City (although the new coach would have to OK it), maybe Minnesota (again-probably a new coach as Frazier is imploding) but I do think there are a few teams that would trade a 2nd-4th rounder for him: yeah, I REALLY don't think he'd fetch a first now: not with his bloated contract...but he just isn't gonna get it done here. Today was the beginning of the end of his career in Dallas. No more slack, no more "I've learned my lesson" speeches.....people have had it, and its just a matter of time until the Dallas media mafia BURIES him..Galloway, Cowlishaw, etc....he's toast IMO. :bang2:

.......yeah, I know: 'Who are we gonna put in there to replace him?'....no idea, but he isnt' the answer and it would take 2-3 years of drafting a young QB to groom him. It's a helluva thing when you put all that money into one guy and he isn't the answer. Jerrah isn't the first to do it either.

I've always wondered though, how is Tony Chokemo pronounced?

Is it Tony "Choke-em-oh or Tony "Choke-mo"

I think Choke-em-oh sounds cooler

I do believe we need to target one high in the draft.

and rolling with Romo has got us what???

A free Rollercoaster ride...well if you don't go to the games, or pay to get cowboys games if you don't live in or around Dallas.

One of the worst halves I've seen. I just can't believe my team finds ways like this to lose. Just unbelievable.

Can't defend Tony today. Just can't. He looked simply amazing in the first half but just appeared like he got lazy in his reads or complacent.

EDIT: I will say that with no running game, it's tough to win being one dimensional.

Romo is just too careless with the ball...Garrett needs to put him on a short leash and not expect much from him. Use him sort of like Dilfer was used and rely more on the defense. I have defended Romo for years but I have nothing left to say. I won't defend him anymore. He's too streaky and inconsistent to win enough games to make a serious run.....Thats all I have to say...

I dare anybody to state that Romo could go 3-4 straight wins in the playoffs with out a meltdown:cool: ....close the book.

Bingo. The "sudden death" nature of the NFL playoffs makes a deep playoff run with Romo very unlikely.

RUSSIAN ROULETTE.

Wild Card
Divisional
NFC Championship
Superbowl

Which one has the bullet? It doesn't even matter.

Just think, ROMO looked absolutely AMAZING the first half of the game. He had control of the offense, making all the right moves. He looked like he could match Rodgers/Brees without breaking a sweat, and then....

:eek::

I swear he must be 11 years old. His original post is this...

"Didn't look for Dez once today. was open all day. Forcing it to Robinson. Loss on Romo today. We'll get em next week, I guess."

He gave us his best. When he's on he's amazing... unfortunately he's just too inconsistent to take us to the next level. I'm done defending him.
