***Rip on Romo Thread***

meh...we'll see by the end of this year...but honestly guy has looked fine but nothing outstanding, if he keeps playing like he has against the big dogs, i'll be impressed, but don't get too down on me if I am not impressed he beat SFA/Rice/ a very over rated TCU. Guy is good and all but he is not a QB you draft with the idea that he is a sure fire franchise QB, at least not yet, and not a guy you waste a 3rd or 4th round on when your team has as many holes as ours.

I will take Landry Jones

What successful QB's has his school put out?
who cares about that? is he some how burdened with the fact his school has not been very successful in the past? if anything that should help his cause, b/c he has completely turned around the programs miserable past in just one season.

add me to the list of former romo defenders, this one put me over the edge.

There are several reasons we lost.

First and foremost is Tony didn't protect the football.

Garrett should have run more in the second half although you can't just run the ball with this offense. It's still on Tony to protect the ball.

Ryan shares some responsibility. He turned off the heat in the second half and gave Stafford all day to throw the ball. Our DBs can't cover well enough to do that but to be completely fair neither can most other teams.

Losing Sensi hurt.

We still can't run the ball well enough. See above.

Romo won't wash this stink off for some time. Although he doesn't deserve all the blame he'll catch the very vast majority of it.

No, he does. Sure D didn't play well in second half either. But Tony just ripped the heart of D IMO. He freaking ripped the heart out of the whole team.

I know, D could have stopped, Garrett should have run the ball more ( even though they were not that effective enough to just run the ball and keep it away, but I know everyone has a photographic memory about how the game went, but other than in some spurts, they were not running the ball well, especially in second half).

But bottom line, it was clear, Detroit was down and out by half time. Tony just decided he needs to be "Oh No" as people say.

For people wanting another QB early in next years draft, don't forget about Wisconsin's Russell Wilson....the dude is on fire!!

He will be taken well before Dallas picks, but you are correct. I was very impressed by him during the BUG-U game yesterday.

Great game for your Badgers. They are legit. People say Alabama is the best looking team? They didn't watch the Badgers yesterday. That QB is special.

BTW: Rynie is a huge Neb-U fan. Make sure to PM him and rub it all up in his grille. :)

Just having fun with this thread.

Already over the loss....looking forward to dismantling the Patsy's in 2 weeks.
Heh. :D

you said he was going to be a COMPLETE UTTER FAILURE as if you have no doubt....give me your reasoning?

he is a big 12 QB, has yet to show anything against a half way decent defense, the number of QBs that relying on running as much as he does in college that succeed (I am talking about winning superbowls or at least making it to superbowls) in the NFL is very low, he is fast in college but will not be in the NFL...

russell wilson will not be selected before our spot. he lacks arm strength.

Tell me how much experience is playing on that OL vs that fearsome Lions DL?

Tell me how long this D (Who played quite well, IMO) Has played under Rob Ryan?

How long has Romo been playing?

That means very little.

How many successful QBs had UCLA put out prior to and after Aikman?

Really? I see a small school QB choking against the Lions with a huge lead. My point is very few small schools put out solid NFL qb's Look around the league most of the starters in the league are from big time programs.

I agree that Romo should have protected the ball but the OC could have help him out. When you are up by 17 points, you should not call a spread shotgun pass play on a 3rd and 2. Especially knowing what Romo has done in the past with INTs and that Romo has a broken ribs and his pain injection was probably wearing off. I'm not making excuses for Romo but I don't understand why JG, time and time again, doesn't run when he can and should.

wilson is smaller than vick and not as fast.

I am done slobbering over "pretty" stats I have seen this story somewhere.

I don't care. Wilson is deadly accurate in the pocket or on the move AND can run it very well from anywhere.

I'd take him over Vicks play anyday. He is a passing QB first. I like the kid a lot.

Someone on the ticket just made a great point...

Romo has a ton of signature collapses but he just doesn't have hardly any big signature wins.

I think if Romo doesn't win in the post season this year than the Cowboys are going to be QB shopping hard this offseason.

There is just no excuse for what he did today.

Biggest collapse in team history.. Seriously...

I like the guy but do I need a napkin to draw a line and write Cowboys over the top of Romo?

For a point to be good, it needs to be based on a solid premise based on facts. Whatever point the caller was trying to make is flawed because his initial premise is just factually wrong.

Last time I checked, the defense has to play 60 minutes too. Just because they are allowed back in the game and given some momentum (which was taken away quite a bit with the field goal drive to make it a 13 point game) doesn't mean you are no longer responsible for performing and makes it okay to give up 17 points in the final quarter. I'm amazed they are not only not getting slammed to death for their terrible performance in the 2nd half, but that they are getting next to no flack at all. Regardless of what happened up to then, that defense had a 13 pt lead in the 4th quarter and fell on their face. Regardless of what happened before then, they still need to do their job. If Romo gets flack for making mistakes in the 4th quarter after playing great, then the defense deserves every bit as much crap for playing great for 2 quarters (They barely played the 3rd) and then playing like crap. All phases are responsible for 60 minutes, not just Romo.

Not going to excuse what Romo did do today, it was pretty damn bad, but he's far from alone in blame. And for the low IQ'd people here who say things like we'd be 4-0 if not for Romo, if you had a clue you'd realize that if we didn't have Romo we'd most likely be 1-3 if not 0-4.

I say Alabama is the best and I saw the Badgers yesterday. You'll have to excuse me for thinking beating Nebraska means absolutely nothing. Hell Garrett Gilbert did that in Lincoln. Badgers looked great and will go undefeated but will miss out on the championship game though.. OU vs Alabama/Lsu

Tony just ruined the rest of my football season.
I guess all my computer passwords of Romo999 will have to be changed.
I bascially don't want to hear that name for the next 2 weeks.
Like a dagger in the heart every time.

:lmao2: why are you focusing so much on his scrambling abilities. he has less than 50 yds rushing a game. He is a pocket passer with good mechanics, good accuracy, and good arm strength.

do you even watch his games?
