***Rip on Romo Thread***

Because I want an honest answer rather than a snide remark.

You want to be flippant and smug, I can be just as flippant and smug back because I know football History way better than anyone crying and screaming why us.
So because it has happened to other teams, we should be okay with it happening or not? I don't find solace in doing this. You don't see me running around saying cut Romo, so it's not like I'm flipping out completely about this. By the way, I would have linked that post whether your name was Hostile or Humpty Dumpty, it was nothing personal.

I just think comparing a team such as the Cowboys to the Patriots in any way, regardless of game similarity, is intended to make us feel better, but it shouldn't. A game like that for the Patriots is likely a small blemish on their 2011 season. The game that we just witnessed is more likely to be the difference between a playoff spot or not.

Steve Mariucci is dying to get a chance to help Romo......get 'er done Jerold.

Would he come in as OC? If so that seems like a no brainer...maybe if Jerry had to give the NFLN a couple of first round draft picks Jerry would feel better about picking him up?

Edit: maybe not such a no brainer considering it would be a new offensive system (?) but still seems like possible benefits out way risks, at least to me, Garret needs some real help here.

Yeah, every time I saw him on TV I get reminded that we could have had Stephan Jackson:lmao:
SJ is awesome, when he's not hurt. truth!

Yup. I think it was before his first start that they played a video of Romo impersonating his idol. It was definitely one of his first starts if not the first one.

I just tried to google that video but couldn't find it.

OH, BS. Just about everyone was on the Julius Jones bandwagon after his rookie year. Anyone claiming otherwise; saying he was going to fail, is full of crap. Even John Madden and other respected coaches thought he was the real deal; and you claim you knew different? BS.

If that is the only way you can look at, by all means continue your narrow minded thinking and enjoy your misery.

The thing that he is missing is that it yes this type of loss generally dose happen to a team or so a week, unfortunately for us while the patriots may lose like this one week we lose like this multiple times a season, thats the big difference imo.

That's the thing, I try to look at it from every angle, but drawing comparisons doesn't change the way I feel about my own team.

I'd rather draw some comparisons to other teams that have been in such a pitiful post-season situation as we have the past 15 years. I'd like to look at another very good (Not elite) QB who has helped blow another game (Biggest meltdown in franchise history). And then I'd like to go tell their fans that it's A-Okay because the Patriots just last week had a bad game.

That's all I'm saying. MS-Paint threads make me feel better than comparisons to teams and QB's that have been so successful over the past several years.

Sometimes you bring some good stuff to threads. This isn't one of those times.

You say this knowing full well he's the best we have on the roster AND we are tied to him.

OF COURSE fans are going to stick up for him, because they like you understand he's all we got.

Give me a break.

Blaming others to excuse Romo doesn't help matters.

1) You will have to pass the ball in the 2nd half, even if you're up by 24 points. The ONLY thing that makes it a game is if the Lions make quick scores, which would usually happen on turnovers.

2) We had a chance to force the Lions to drive down the field and score a FG to *tie* the game. Romo throws blindly to Witten (big freaking surprise) and gets picked off.

3) Romo has the option to audible to running plays, too. People usually forget this.

I don't know why he does it, but I know that I'm tired of it and I don't think it's what a Super Bowl winning QB will do. I also know that just about every non-Cowboys fan...if they are being completely honest...will tell you that they don't see Romo as a SB winning QB either. Or as my friend, a Bears fan said...'whatever Montana and Elway had, Romo doesn't.'

I am sorry, I just don't feel sorry for Cowboys fans and the suffering they go through with the way their favorite team loses.

Every loss sucks. Man up, put on big boy undies, and stop that bottom lip from quivering or go watch checkers and tiddlywinks.

We have fans still miserable from losses years ago. My gosh, take some Tums, see a therapist, or join a monastery.

It's really just that simple to me. You're right, I don't see the difference. I see wins and losses, and neither one make me lose my damned mind.

I do not care what you are saying. Get that through your thick skull. If you can't accept the fact that other teams lose just like we have then you can't accept it. Go cry in your beer, and leave your smug remarks for other people.

I don't give a damn about your 15 years of misery. Can I get any clearer for you?

It's only a couple of hours after the game and we're on a Cowboys forum. Did you think everyone would be over it that quickly?

Romo is who he is. He takes risk that can cost his team. He can also win a game by himself for his team.

He takes stupid risks - had he handed the ball off every snap after his first pick 6 - we win. His stats are great, yet can also be meaningless, as we saw tonight.
Kitna wins this game.

it's because with every new embarrassing loss, we are reminded by the media, our friends, etc.. about those other embarrassing losses from years past.

personally i will not get over the texas stadium/ravens loss until they win a super bowl.

it's like people are not allowed to participate on this forum after a loss unless it's in a "i'm still behind romo" thread.

Oh I accept that it happens to other teams. I guess I also have to accept the fact that if we were to go 0-16 everything would be okay with you because your next Touch of Homerism post would be full of comparisons to other teams that went 0-16.

It's sad that you can't at all see why people would be bothered by a loss like this. Aren't you a Cowboy history buff? It's the biggest blown lead in Cowboy history.

You can't act surprised that not everyone can just magically be at ease because the Patriots lost in a similar fashion.

You are better than this. I understand what you are saying, but saying this w/o any solution or option isn't fair. It's just dumping to dump.

BTW: The Bears would KILL to have Romo
