***Rip on Romo Thread***

In all honesty, I think we will, someday, win a SuperBowl with Garrett. I think he's got this team pointed in the right direction - appreciably younger, more focused (penalties), young playmakers, emphasis on pressure, etc.

Sadly, however, I'm starting to think that we won't win a SB with Romo as QB. His inability to learn from mistakes and his propensity to take one mistake and turn it into many more, high profile mistakes is maddening.

Admittedly, it will take some major luck to find a young QB to develop in the next few years, but I hope it can happen.

Id like your list of quality replaceable QB's since we should can Romo.

Any in the draft? Think we get a shot at Luck?

You have the answers....can we see them, please?

You are right, there aren't any other viable options right now. He is the best we've got. That's what sucks so much.

I never claimed I had the answers.

Go and see if you can find a post that said I wanted luck or that I had the answers?

Look this team is young, and why not draft a QB next year and have the team grow together? Personally I like Landry Jones.

i dont see how you can blame garrett for anything today..are you?

I can lay some blame on JG. He has to know what he has in Romo. He has to stop putting the game in Tony's hands at every snap. Stop being so greedy. I am not saying stop passing, but when you are up 24-3 coming out at the half, manage the pts gained and the game better.

We were running pretty well I thought. I'd like to see more of it. We have some solid RB's. If this line is getting the yards, ride them more.

Still don't think that's something we should expect even though it seems to be happening a lot more these days

I think the odds are stacked against it happening as well. However, you also have no reason to believe that your guy won't hit the ground running either. Atleast until proven otherwise. I think it boils down to the glass half empty or half full argument, right now i'm trying to be optimistic about a young Qb.

BTW: Why can't we run the ball more often? Really? Please run the ball more......pretty please?
When we were up 24pts, that's EXACTLY what we SHOULD have been doing.

All the stats dont mean anything if you give games away with turn overs.

You complain about not running the ball more, and I asked you a question do you think starting McGee would force Garrett to change the way he manages and calls plays?

somebody earlier in the thread put it in perspective.

to win a superbowl you have to win 3 or 4 games in a row in the playoffs. do we trust this guy to play consistent football for that long of a stretch of games? he has not proven it.

Love how we let Carpenter make a play like that against us and Folk as well.

What sucks so much is, there is 3-4 year window. No time to start over. Unfortunately that seems to be the reality right now. Sure, Romo might good again for 2-3 games and will have media/fans off his back.

But by now, its the old saying, fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me. Tony Romo's movie is getting old. How many times are going to believe him about correcting his mistakes and learning?

At the same time, Eli Manning is one guy, who is as mistake prone if not more than Romo, who won a SB. Thats the only saving grace for Romo and we Cowboys fans. Just hope for 3-4 game stretch in Playoffs he might get hot. If not us fans are in for another long drought, the way things look right now.

Yes, but why can't we run the ball more w/ Romo who is YEARS better than McGee?

Forcing a running game by changing QB's, isn't the answer.

Garrett like Andy Reid when it comes to managing the clock, sees to have a phobia to running the ball.

Up three after Romo throws two picks what was I thinking to think that Garrett would run and make the Lions use their time outs and eat clock? t

I hope he is embarrassed. He should be. BARBIE CARPENTER GOT A PICK 6 OFF OF HIM. At least the eagles lost.

Before the 2nd big pick we were running the ball over and over. It was on 3rd and short after running quite a bit that Romo forced the ball to Robinson even though the defender had good inside coverage. He should thrown that one away and been content with a punt. That is how you protect big leads, not by trying to make a play out of nothing when you dont need to.

I do agree with this. Hell, even if we go three and out every time it runs time off the clock and keeps Romo from getting crazy.

It's like everyone thinks it can't happen again....but then it does. Romo shouldn't have to be babysat but Garrett should know he does need to be.

Yeah, that one rubbed me REALLY raw.

You think Carpenter will let Romo live that down, ever? I wouldn't.......

Sad thing is, Carp made a play like that once for us too.

Once.... :(
