WoW.
Now GB defense is ROCK solid. Excellent front 7. Barnett & Hawk are studs. Baja Bimila(sp) is stong off the edge. They have excellent run stoppers & a very good set of CBs.

I dont think it would be that much of a reach to say they have the best D in the league.
:starspin

I love the fact that the Cowboys play the best Defense in the league every single week! Yet we are 8-1.;)

Damn we are good!

Amazing, ain't it? And on a Cowboys Forum no less! :D

Is Favre playing good? Yes. Butif I choose one or the other of the QB's. it's going to be Romo everytime.

Did GB's running game improve last week? Yes. Would I trade it for Julies and the Barbarian? Not on your life.

Does GB have a damn fine Defense? Certainly. Would I trade AJ Hawk and the rest of their squad for Ellis and the rest of our D? Not this season. And most likely not next year or the year after.

Like I said, "I" think we have the edge, but I am definately a Homer when it comse to the Cowboys. I was however, a little more realistic when we played the Cheatriots. I gave them the edge on WR's. ;)

I'm pretty sure we have two more games to focus on before we even get around to playing the Packers.

Green Bay has no running game, the Cowboys do, simple as that. Work the clock with the running game, keep Farve off the field...Cowboys win the game.

Green Bay is just one of the bigger rocks in the road.

(you know the road, right? The one road that McSlob said went through Philthy).

With no running game for GB, and some SERIOUS pass rush for the Cowboys, at home!

Nope, GB is not the threat. The Boyz are coming to get ahold of some cheaters!

We rush the passer better
And most importantly Romo is better than the 2007 Favre.

Green Bay pressures the passer better than Dallas does.

Also, the Packers offensive line is great at pass blocking, and not so great at run blocking. This Grant pickup from NY has been a surprise. Two 100 yard games in three weeks. He looks really fast.

I saw a poll on NFL.com yesterday that asked who is the better QB.

Favre won every state except Texas. Even in Texas, 30% of those polled picked Favre over Romo. Romo has played better, imo.

No they don't, and especially not with Ellis back on the field. Dallas and Green Bay have played four common opponents. Dallas has a sack every 11.73 attempts against those teams, Green Bay has a sack every 12.54 attempts. Take out the games without Greg Ellis, and Dallas' average goes to a sack every 9.0 attempts. Dallas also posted a better sack percentage against all four common opponents -- even if you include the games without Greg Ellis.

AGAINST PHILADELPHIA
Dallas -- 1 sack every 15.33 attempts
Green Bay -- 1 sack every 33.00 attempts

AGAINST MINNESOTA
Dallas -- 1 sack every 6.33 attempts
Green Bay -- 1 sack every 8.13 attempts

AGAINST CHICAGO

Dallas -- 1 sack every 11 attempts (all without Ellis)
Green Bay -- 1 sack every 12.5 attempts

AGAINST THE GIANTS
Dallas -- 1 sack every 13.0 attempts (6.8 with Ellis)
Green Bay -- 1 sack every 20.0 attempts

Just curious. How about pressures in addition to sack numbers you provided?

I fail to see how sacks absolutely means someone creates more or less pressure. It means we're in the same company. Until they play the game they have a dangerous pass rush just as we do. Even with hits and pressures added all you have is a number to guide you.

I believe that both QB's will play well. The difference to me is definetly going to be on the defensive side of the ball.
Which ever D plays the best will win.

Special teams will also play a big part.

JMO you understand

Two words: they don't. It's a good defense - top 6 or so - but not the best defense. Looking at trimmed means, set to toss out best and worst quartiles, we're only giving up 3.4 more points a game than Green Bay.

Offhand, Pittsburgh looks to be the best defense.

It won't matter much which team has the best stats, who says who is better, yada yada. They'll play the game and the one with the most points will be the winner. Not even necessarily the best. However, it's fun to talk about it and it will be the biggest GB game in awhile.

I still feel like we owe them some payback even though we hurt them in the nineties. I'll never get over those two games awhile back.
