He has no one to blame but himself.....thinking he could trust his season with Wentz. Their refusal to invest in the QB position is odd. The face of team and leader Terry McLurin, a third-year WR. What does that tell ya?

My fear is Snyder may fire Rivera and zero in on Quinn, considering how invested in the D.

Ron Rivera: I understand frustration, but have to be realistic with what we have

Quinn isn't leaving for a crap franchise. He has to be picky because he's likely not getting another shot at HC if fired. Can't see him going anywhere unless it is a really good situations.

Also…..we need to keep one thing in mind as we go through the exercise of figuring Quinn is gone….

This is his second and likely last (based on history) shot at being a HC. He will not waste that on going to that Washington disaster only to be fired in 2/3 years then back to DC forever.

Jerry will pay him well to keep this going with Parsons, and I think he will want to wait for the right situation.

I just fear that’s Seattle, and Carroll just may quit realizing he has no QB anytime soon.

Either way, it just a matter of time, unless he's HC with the Cowboys

Laurie is generally considered a good owner among the NFL owners. He’s hands off tillehe think’s changes have to be made. He made good trades and got his QB timeli

Yep, but we are in a tough spot there.

For Quinn to be a top name, the team has to have some level of success, and if so how do you fire MM?

Im not even sure hiring Quinn as HC just to keep him is the right move….and that has nothing to do with clock blunders….I think you fully lose a coordinator when they become HC. It’s not the same.

It’s just a guess but I have a very strong vibe he is waiting for the Seattle job when it opens. Root for them this year just in case I’m right lol.

What heat should their be?

He was bought in mainly to change the culture and take the heat off Dan Snyder, imo him winning is secondary to that.

Firing Rivera would be pointless....may as well let him finish this and next year so that way no one focuses too much on the Snyder allegations

I agree but total control and a boatload of money are hard to turn down. Rivera has total control over football operations. They have a lot of good players on defense and offense. Just need to get serious about a QB.

Cousins was a home run in the 4th round. Problem is they treated him like garbage
they really did and the fans here hated him.

Now make no mistake Cousins wasnt winning a superbowl but he kept them around 8 or 9 wins and without him those 3 years as a starter its possible thay team wouldve went 1-15, 3-13 and 4-12 they were that bad

They are trying their hardest to bring in a qb and i doubt wentz was their first or second choice

they wanted Aaron Rodgers....that was their goal but he was resigned

but im not sure Rodgers would do well in DC the way he rips the packers management imagine what he'd do to the management in dc

We will take McLaurin, Allen and Dotson for a couple of late picks. We’d be helping them out

Rodgers would have retired before going to DC.

If he was going to move, it would be a place of his choosing. Wash. isn't a dumpster fire, it's a nuclear holocaust.

Yeah, but it is a crap organization. Snyder is under all kinds of investigations, so the ownership situation is a question mark.

Rivera was brought in to change the culture but even a hardnosed guy like him is having trouble doing so.

From what I read/heard they had their sight set on Rogers, Wilson, and Watson at one time but none worked out.

I mean if wash really wants a franchise qb they gotta look in the first round or Part ways with Young and Allen for an established franchise qb

Remember the good ole days when this board was melting down when Washington hired Rivera and we got "stuck" with MM? Jury is still out on MM for sure, but I would take him over Rivera at this point.

Good times.

Does anyone honestly think Rivera and/or Del Rio for that matter are BAD coaches?

Case in point that if you don’t have the QB you are sunk, and good ones are nearly impossible to find.

No, but I'm assuming their next hire would be Jack Del Rio who is probably the same coach realistically as Rivera. I think they're both good coaches. I wouldn't blame Rivera in this situation. Gotta have a real franchise QB or you're not going to have that kind of success. That's why Rivera went to the Super Bowl, he had prime Cam.
