Rob Ryan Fired per twitter ESPNDallas **merged**

I'm not so pleased with this news unless there is more to the story.

so its a good guess that Rob was the unnamed coach that got fired and "blew up" in the other thread.

Would like to see footage of that

You saw the defense played with fire with Ryan here, he was missing 7 starters at some points during the season. Screw you Jerry

If Garrett has any sense of humor, he will name himself the defensive coordinator tomorrow morning and just let it simmer for a day or two while they interview candidates.

Yeah, I do wonder if this means a 4-3.

I hope not. It's an inferior scheme.

The way Rob Ryan was using his 3-4 scheme here we were running 4-3 concepts.

Holy dysfunction. I guess someone has to blame for the over-expenditure on CB's.

Two things.

If rob is fired as DC than we better have a new OC to replace JG.
Rob did more with less (due to injury).

Wonder now if the big change will be a switch to 4-3 and they want a 4-3 DC

Wow! I'm not the biggest Rob Ryan fan but what he did with the defense after all those injuries was pretty impressive imo.

Yea I'm not sure bout this move. I though he did fine considering the mash unit he had.

Garrett should have gone with him. Something is rotten inside this franchise.

SO TRUE, HOW GARRETT IS STILL IN A JOB IS MIND NUMBING

If true, I feel bad for the guy. Never got to see what he could have done with a fully healthy defense for a season. I know they were together a little at the start of the season, but not for long enough to really gel together. I think we would have had a top 10 defense if we'd stayed healthy.

damn offense fails us so fire defensive coordinator?

Well, to be fair, Ryan hasn't been anything more than a so-so coordinator. His "fame" is built on a few games where he managed to outscheme top NFL offenses, such as the New Orleans game when he was with Cleveland.

I don't mind him being fired, depending on whom Dallas has in mind to replace him.

That's because we had no NT.

The best thing we can do for our defense is to stick with a 3-4 and obtain a real NT. It's just a more flexible scheme that a 4-3. I would hate going back to that.

I never cared for Rob Ryan. Just like his Daddy and brother... ran his mouth and could never back it up.

Please God ...... make this true

I'll sign on to this. He's from Dallas, it's a great place to position himself for a future HC job, and he is a heck of a DC.
