If Garrett has any sense of humor, he will name himself the defensive coordinator tomorrow morning and just let it simmer for a day or two while they interview candidates.

:lmao2: would be the ultimate troll

Im confused. He did a really good job with what he had over the last 8 games; guys flat out played for him. How does Wade Wilson and Coach D keep their jobs? Dont get it just yet.

Rob Ryan will have a job in about 7-10 days.

If we fired Garrett he'd be out a year at least.

This defense was as injury-riddled as any in football. Rough firing unless there was other reasoning.

As to the 3-4/4-3 stuff Rob Ryan coached a lot of 4-3 so that isn't a reason.

If I had to guess I'd say this is about what came out of the team meetings this week.

Hello Lovie Smith
Ok

I feel better already.

Make it happen Jerra

I'm pretty ticked about losing Ryan though. I sure sure Jerry sees the 10s of millions he spent on the defense and was hoping for more than he got. But they were so wrecked, it's hard to point the finger too much at the effor those guys put out.

Smith would be awesome though.

Wow.

I can't say I understand why.

Agreed.

I don't get it. It was his unit decimated by injuries. If injuries are a viable reason for losing, Ryan should've been protected more than anyone.

I'll be honest. I'm bothered by this move.

Ridiculous is the only way to put it, seven starters out and IMO he did a heck of a job with what he had in hand.

This piece meal firing stuff is stupid. Red should havde been the first one to go. Would have saved alot of time.

I never cared for Rob Ryan. Just like his Daddy and brother... ran his mouth and could never back it up.

This. All hype. Guy was a total fraud.

Good he accomplish very little here. Injuries or no injuries. All that talk and how he was going to confuse the other teams offense wasn't getting it done. Very little turnovers, not being able to stop teams on 3rd down, not being able to stop teams from scoring after we scored. Players confused,12, 13 men on the field. Tired of it. Be gone.

I'll sign on to this. He's from Dallas, it's a great place to position himself for a future HC job, and he is a heck of a DC.

But he wouldn't.

He's interviewing for Head Coaching jobs right now.

This will piss the d players off. The were missing 6 starters and played hard yeth jg offense was virtually healthy and under performed to say the least and he keeps his job. They almost have to get oc to call the plays. If not I think this will be a broken locker room

I guess this is the beginning of the uncomfortable off season. And perhaps...the beginning of the 4-3?

That's because we had no NT.

The best thing we can do for our defense is to stick with a 3-4 and obtain a real NT. It's just a more flexible scheme that a 4-3. I would hate going back to that.

I agree completely, dropping back Spencer and Wars into coverage was byond stupid.

For whatever reason Ryan played extremely conservative this year and even when we were healthy it wasn't effective.

Lovie Smith I'm sure will get another HC job. I hope Jerry has a plan because I'm not so sure Ryan deserves this with the injuries he had to deal with.
