Rob Ryan Question

Not with the Dallas media. They will poke and prod and push someone until they get a controversy.

He likely wouldn't be out there to get prodded. Garrett and Romo are the only two that do press conferences outside the occasional Jerry one.

Did Rob Ryan really say anything overly controversial or inflammatory working under Mangini in Cleveland?

I'm seriously asking. I don't recall anything off the top of my head, and I don't turn anything up on Google.

He has a pretty lengthy track record as an assistant coach in the NFL, and I don't remember any incidents off the top of my head. He's coached under Belichick for 3 years, I'm pretty sure you don't last that long under him unless you play the role of the good soldier.

I pray, even tho I know that is make belive hogwash, that we get Ryan.

He held Brady and Brees to their worst games of the season after implementing an "amoeba" defense which I heard Ron Jawarski claim he's never seen anything like in over 30 years of breaking down NFL film. You don't find that stuff in the stat listing.

I take Jaws with a grain of salt.

There's no doubt in my mind if Ryan became D-C at Dallas and had success, he wouldn't give him credit and would chalk it up to poor play from the opponents and being 'lucky.' He's done it with Romo, Ware and company.

Rob handled the personnel in Oakland poorly, trying to put them into a scheme that didn't fit the personnel and then when that didn't work, tried to go back to the 4-3 when he finally had personnel suited for the 3-4.

I don't get the 'he would divide the locker room', although I do wonder why Cleveland would let him go if he did such a great job. I don't think Holmgren is an idiot, although I think he has a style of coach and football he prefers. It would be nice if one of the Dallas reporters could investigate this, but I have a better chance of catching polio than that happening.

I think its time we had a creative DC. We have some players on D that could thrive if someone used a little more imagination in their use. Ware and the Rat could cause havoc if used right. Gotta agree that if he survived 3 years under Bellicheat then he can take orders and shut up.

He can be the DC for the Cowboys if Buddy has a heart attack because of it. :laugh2:

I know the Steelers think Cleveland has the most complex defense. Apparently, Rob likes to change things up alot.
I mean why on earth would we want to have a DC that changes things up? Wade did the same old thing this year for 8 games and we were a stellar defense because of it....oh I was dreaming for a minute their....yea.

People who are different can get along fine and Ryan has to know how to rein it in when needed he's worked with Bellichecl and Mangini not sure you could be more tight ***** then those guys.

First question Jason should ask him: "Does your wife make videos, too?"

He wasn't bad. Did some smart things. I think his brother is much better. I think if he were hired, I think we'd have a better situation with picking our personnel then he had in Oakland and Cleveland.

One thing you have to remember about Cleveland was their defense was awful in 2009. They then had to rely on 2 rookies in Joe Haden (7 INT's this year) and TJ Ward to take over the secondary.

I think he was the first guy who figured out the Saints offense to a degree. He started to sort of spy a D-Linemen which would take away Brees' checkdowns and it worked brilliantly. The rest of the league followed suit.

There's other guys at D-C I would prefer, but I wouldn't have an issue with hiring the guy and I don't believe the son should pay for the sins of the father.

I'd love to see what this guy could do with Ware and the Rat.:cunning:
