Rob Ryan schooled again

I understand what you are saying but how do you not factor in the fact that a team that hadnt scored an offensive TD in 3 games, marched up and down the field on our defense in the 2nd half of that game?

Special teams was a big factor in the first half, they had 14 points with 2 first downs.

I guess maybe it is just a matter of momentum and them getting on a roll and building confidence. Either way, just glad Dallas pulled this one out of the fire.

Its football, it happens and in my opinion no explanation is necessary.

Some times all of the hard work and preparation gets you an L. Some times you win, when you suppose to lose. Every level of football has this that is why it is such a great sport.

People are focusing on the wrong thing, we are number one because we won the tiebreaker. Miami is next, time to get another win.

That pretty much sizes it up. Right now only thing that matters is putting games in the win column and Dolphins are the next team up

I expect a win- I would hope a convincing one- but I'll take a "W" no matter the style, or the neatness of it. Just that winning sloppy is reminiscent of winning with Wade. We should all be able to remember that, right? Sure we are winning, but man... it don't look like we are playing great football in doing so. And that "feeling" is usually proven out against the better teams, you know... playoff caliber teams.

Man, I hope Rob doesn't go calling out players and coaches ahead of the game... seems to be bad luck.

Know what I mean? ;)

It seems the team as a whole is emotionally and mentally stronger atleast partly due to Ryans superior Coaching effort.

Garrett and Ryan have some actual chemistry translating into positive energy that looks to be producing a playoff caliber Football Team.

Just FYI

NFC Points Against
1. San Francisco 145
2. Washington 205
3. Dallas 206

Not very impressive.

I wonder if our defensive coordinator got the memo? Everybody knows that I am a glass half-full kind of guy.

Not in this case. Our defensive play has me just a bit concerned. Injuries be darned- this is week 11 of the season. Every team has some injuries to deal with and our defense is not scaring many teams these days no matter how many comments that Rob may be making about what we are going to do in the next game.

Hopefully we are checking ourselves and our tendencies because other teams are sure doing so and I am not certain that they are seeing some keys or at least making better adjustments that leave us confused on the field. Seeing too much confusion and that tells it's own story. :(

He got schooled on passes over the middle but the run, the short passes, he didn't.

What I get a kick out of is people thinking this was going to be a game where we just showed up and won. This is a division, rivalry game and you knew the Skins were going to play us tough even though they are struggling. There was no way they were gonna let us waltz in there and do whatever we wanted like we did against Buffalo. This is the NFL and no game is ever easy especially a division game on the road.

I wonder, why he stopped blitzing up the middle?

In Garrett's press conference today he made mention (in Garrett's way of choosing his words "carefully" so not to indicate blame) that communication on the defensive side of the ball seemed slow and that the secondary wasn't as aggessive on the late TD drive by the Commanders.

To be fair to Ryan, he does not have a lot to work with here. I don't think many people would call this a great or even good defense. We need improvement at more positions then we are set at. The D-line does not pressure and the backs don't defend. Lee looks good but Brookings and James are done. Safety, I mean, ouch.

Our safeties are playing well, its ILB and corners 2-4 that are a trainwreck. Maybe Jenkins coming back will fix some of this.
