Sounds like a classic Cowboys draft choice.....Now that we have screwed ourselves out of the QB derby

Not sure why people keep thinking we would take a QB in the Top Ten even if we had a chance.

I'll guess one broken down QB and two mannequins.

But the plan is to have the QB sit behind Romo for 3 years.

That's a waste of a top ten pick, especially in a draft that's considered pretty weak for QBs.

Take a QB later as your developmental QB.

How is it any bigger waste than Mo Claiborne? Next years draft looks about the same for QBs and they dont magically appear when you want them. I think Lynch will be a player.

His brother Denzel is a bit squirrely as well. Wild man as a DB-sized college OLB. He was hospitalized mysteriously a couple weeks ago. They're both involved in a lawsuit, getting sued for $2 million by a guy Denzel ran up on and punched in the back of the head. Maybe it's already resolved, but it happened last year I think.

I would bet more will come out about the Nkemdiches as the investigative period goes on.

Pot doesn't make you do things like this. There's something else to the story here as normal people don't break windows and fall from heights.

Didn't want this guy to begin with. Now I would't touch him at all, even if he slides.

The more I watch him, the more I agree. I'm unimpressed with the lack of power he plays with. Maybe he benefits from an NFL strength and conditioning program, but I don't want to risk that high of a pick on that. Ramsey or Hargreaves all the way.

What's it going to be then, eh?

There are rumors it was synthetic marijuana, which is a lot less predictable in its effect.

What I wonder is if maybe someone tipped him off and he thought the cops were coming so he tried to bail and not get caught. Weed does make you incredibly paranoid, particularly when you have so much to lose. That is the biggest issue here though, another kid who just has to stay clean for a few months and he's a millionaire. Someone will still draft him high, but you have to question the decision making.

I just don't see the guy as being able to dominate. I also don't see a defined position for him in the NFL. He flashes some quickness to play the 3 tech, but it's inconsistent and I don't think he has the power to play the 1 tech of the speed/agility to play outside. To me, he would be a luxury/rotation pick and I can't condone that when there will be a couple guys on the board, most likely, who are different makes day one.

I just don't see it with him. I hadn't watched much of him and was just going by what I had read. Watching some of him lately, I don't see a top 10 pick. I think Aaron Donald and Sheldon Richardson were much better prospects and they went a lot lower than he's projected. I'm all in on Bosa (unlikely to be there), Ramsey or Hargreaves now.

Yep I'm all in on the Bosa and Ramsey train but I've recently jumped on the Jaylon Smith bandwagon and want him more then Hargreaves. What are your thoughts on Jaylon Smith?

I watched him early in the season and he was dominant but he got injured and i havent seen them play but he would be better than Crawford at 3 tech here.again i dont see us drafting a player who will share snaps with Crawford here.

Nice player. Have him behind Jack by a fair distance. Versatile and strong. Could play Mike/Sam here which I'm not convinced Jack can do every down. Jack is probably a Will here so I'm not sure of his fit with Lee. He's very strong at the POA and plays with power. Smith isn't nearly as good in coverage as Jack though. Thats the only way I could justify a LB in the top 10. I wouldn't be opposed to Smith in a trade back scenario to the 10-15 range.

Another player I really like is Ragland. He's going to be a tackling machine. I think I'm higher than most on him, but I have similar grades on Smith and Ragland right now.

Most of the tape I saw was from the 2nd half of the season so maybe the injury affected him more than I was aware of. I'll have to dig up some of the earlier games and have another look. I think you're right about the shared snaps thing. He's probably not going to be a target on that alone.

I like Ragland too,he should be our target in the 2nd.

Shaq Lawson, DE, 6-3 #270 Clemxon

Lawson has been one of the breakout stars of the 2015 season, including 13.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks through Nov. 5.

"this #90 is a difference-maker!," an AFC scout message NFLDraftScout.com's Dane Brugler while watching Lawson work against Notre Dame's highly-touted left tackle Ronnie Stanley in October. Lawson finished the game with seven tackles, including 3.5 of those stops for loss, beating Stanley with quickness and power.

I am all about Jaylon Smith. I think he has one of the highest ceilings in the draft. I would love Ramsey and Hargreaves too though. This team can definitely add an immediate impact starter on defense, if they just avoid reaching for a QB.
