Maybe- he also could have sat in his running car in the garage and let the carbon monoxide do the work.
This hurts. What a light for so many.
The man did USO work not quite on par with Bob Hope, but he put a lot of smiles on a lot of sad, scared and lonely faces in those deserts in the Middle East.
His work speaks for itself through the smiles of children who've seen his movies and memories from his outstanding stand up and older shows some of us grew up on.
Of all people- he deserved help for his depression more than most, but life isn't like that. Life is brutal, unyielding and nonstop.
Like someone said above- I was not a huge fan, but recognizing what he did is not a hard thing to appreciate.
May his soul rest in great peace and may all the souls already in Heaven let him know how many lives he affected and all the good he had placed into people's psyches and memories in his tenure on the physical plane.
Salut Robin. All my respect. All my appreciation. All my solace for those you left behind- which really is all of us. We all lost here.
The majority of stand up idols are deeply depressed (the good ones anyway...wouldn't have that depth otherwise, etc). I hear you big time though (lost a good one) Carlin, Louis CK, Pryor(common theme)
