We probably win these last 2 games with Sean Lee.

The defense has its issues, but having Lee out there covers up a lot of those warts.

It's incredible how one player makes such a big difference.

It doesn't matter who the QB is, if your defense cannot stop the other team from scoring a TD with a minute left, the team is simply not good enough.

Absolutely agree on Marinelli. This upcoming off season needs to be a clean sweep of the defensive coaching staff and needs an honest evaluation of the players on the roster.

The CB's seem to be doing ok on tackling, the rest of LB's/Safetys have been bad..... That said , this bend but don't break style is a recipe for disaster especially when your O should have motivated them with the way they controlled the clock,
converted that 4th down, and had you QB run in for the leading TD....

The 2 Superbowl defenses last year were about like the Cowboys defense last year.

Disagree. Not close at all. I don't see Freeney or Mathis or anyone of that caliber anywhere on this defense. That Patriots team had Bellichek and at least 9 players who walk in the door and immediately claim starting spots on this Dallas defense. Same goes for Atlanta to a lesser extent.

I think you're being nit picky.

We're talking about average defenses winning titles.

It's more common now days. Defense wins championships but modern day NFL has shown offense wins championships too. The rules have caused this.

We may not have Freeney but Lawrence is right at the top of the league in sacks. Our D Line is actually pretty good.

Last year it was #2 in Points allowed and that is the most important stat.

WE could also stop the run last year.

We have more upside on defense but right now Last years defense was much better.

Can anyone come up with a championship team which had a bend don't break defense that doesn't force turnovers?

I think that the turnovers will come. We have a pretty athletic secondary now and they need time to adjust to the NFL game. We knew from that start of the season that patience would be needed with this defense. I think we will be much improved by the last part of the schedule with this unit.

The thing that upsets me the most is that although Rodgers is an all-time great, it's not like we are always losing to the team that wins every Super Bowl. If this was Brady and the Pats, at least we can say that this is just what Brady does to every team in the league on the way to another ring.

Rodgers torches us and then everyone is in awe over him while we'll be home watching some other team that knows how to beat the Packers in the playoffs just like Atlanta last year. Rodgers is great but the Packers are not unbeatable as many teams have shown in the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Cowboys just can't seem to be the ones to ever do it.

Maybe not getting run over every week would help also. Dallas was almost non competitive against the packers running game. The ends were flying up the field while jones was just running right past them.

This defensive scheme stinks. It was brought in to get away from the complex wade phillips 34 and then Ryans 34 which the players complained was to complex. This scheme Jerry brought in on advice from his old cronies because it was easy to learn and easy to teach and would allow the players to play fast and not think.

oh well. Its always about personnel but this scheme stinks too. Nobody wins with it. Indy won with it in 06 and tampa in 02. Nobody else has success with it, the damn bears under lovie and marinelli were pretty good with great talent but couldn't beat rodgers and mcarthy.

I just don't understand it. Parcells told Jerry when he was here you dont want to play the 4-3 because it is so hard to find defensive ends and if you can't draft one they are to expensive in free agency. This was a big part of what was repeated around here all the time when went to the 34 in 05.

so of course we not only play the 43 but we play the version of it that almost no one else does. Seattle does not play this style nor does atlanta or NY etc.

oh well who knows maybe they will go on a winning streak or something.

Because the type of defense we run is easily torched by good QB's.

This style of defense got exposed over a decade ago and the only way it will work is if we're elite at every position.

I'm tired of having to be elite at every position on our team. Our coaches need to step up.

Marinelli needs to take a step back today and let Eberflus take over.

No reason to focus on just Aaron Rodgers.

Kirk Cousins and Alex Smith is going to shred this defense just like Aaron Rodgers and Jared Goff did.

And Marinelli is not going to get fired during the bye week. Won't happen.

It's a passive mindset they've instilled into the defense. Can't expect the players to completely change course in the heat of the game. These players are coached to play such a passive brand of defense, they're more worried about not making a mistake than actually making a good play.

We shall see....they started fast last year and then faded like a cheap suit.

We still have the better qb and offense...we just have to see some serious improvement on the defensive side.

Wentz is becoming great. A consistent running game and that team becomes a contender.

Every good offensive coordinator this team faces makes Marenilli look like the Dinosaur he is. He should be a dline coach not a defensive coordinator.

Aaron Rodgers is great and all but as good as he is on the field Mike McCarthy is just as good on the sidelines against us.

He meticulously destroys Marinelli almost every single time.

Marinelli is probably great at coaching the fundamentals of football to players but Marinelli and his scheme are just not up to NFL standards.

For us to have any chance in the playoffs we are going to have to avoid Atlanta & GB at all costs because not only do they have the horses but they have the coaches as well and our bland style of football is too easy to prepare for.

You can get away playing bend don't break football against your typical NFL QB as long as you stop the run but these elite QB's will break you.

Dallas needs to get rid of Marinelli right now.. Don't do it at the end of the year. We've seen how this plays out. IT's time to make a change RIGHT NOW.

Try Eberflus for the rest of the year instead of wasting this time with Marinelli.
This is a lower level move that would immediately satisfy me. Others need to be made but this would be a great start...

There running game is pretty good already. There defense is pretty good already.

I believe they are potentially a division winner this year...I don't see much further than that though. It really is a matter of us putting things together on defense and getting anywhere near what we were last year and our running game getting going. 4th quarter was a good sign for the running game, hopefully we can build off of that during the bye.

Perhaps the best thing to happen to them is Sproles going down. Health always factors in, but they are starting to get really good. And Wentz is putting it together now.
