Now is the time to make this move.
From your lips to God's ears
Now is the time to make this move.
It doesn't matter who the QB is, if your defense cannot stop the other team from scoring a TD with a minute left, the team is simply not good enough.
Absolutely agree on Marinelli. This upcoming off season needs to be a clean sweep of the defensive coaching staff and needs an honest evaluation of the players on the roster.
Colts
The 2 Superbowl defenses last year were about like the Cowboys defense last year.
Disagree. Not close at all. I don't see Freeney or Mathis or anyone of that caliber anywhere on this defense. That Patriots team had Bellichek and at least 9 players who walk in the door and immediately claim starting spots on this Dallas defense. Same goes for Atlanta to a lesser extent.
Let's be honest. Garrett doesn't have that authority.Red should have told Rod before the game that if we get a too many men on the field penalty you can just walk off and pack your stuff. Game, set, match.
I think you're being nit picky.
We're talking about average defenses winning titles.
It's more common now days. Defense wins championships but modern day NFL has shown offense wins championships too. The rules have caused this.
We may not have Freeney but Lawrence is right at the top of the league in sacks. Our D Line is actually pretty good.
I can't wait for the day that this defense is average.
Can anyone come up with a championship team which had a bend don't break defense that doesn't force turnovers?
The thing that upsets me the most is that although Rodgers is an all-time great, it's not like we are always losing to the team that wins every Super Bowl. If this was Brady and the Pats, at least we can say that this is just what Brady does to every team in the league on the way to another ring.
Rodgers torches us and then everyone is in awe over him while we'll be home watching some other team that knows how to beat the Packers in the playoffs just like Atlanta last year. Rodgers is great but the Packers are not unbeatable as many teams have shown in the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Cowboys just can't seem to be the ones to ever do it.
The CB's seem to be doing ok on tackling, the rest of LB's/Safetys have been bad..... That said , this bend but don't break style is a recipe for disaster especially when your O should have motivated them with the way they controlled the clock,
converted that 4th down, and had you QB run in for the leading TD....
We shall see....they started fast last year and then faded like a cheap suit.
We still have the better qb and offense...we just have to see some serious improvement on the defensive side.
This is a lower level move that would immediately satisfy me. Others need to be made but this would be a great start...Aaron Rodgers is great and all but as good as he is on the field Mike McCarthy is just as good on the sidelines against us.
He meticulously destroys Marinelli almost every single time.
Marinelli is probably great at coaching the fundamentals of football to players but Marinelli and his scheme are just not up to NFL standards.
For us to have any chance in the playoffs we are going to have to avoid Atlanta & GB at all costs because not only do they have the horses but they have the coaches as well and our bland style of football is too easy to prepare for.
You can get away playing bend don't break football against your typical NFL QB as long as you stop the run but these elite QB's will break you.
Dallas needs to get rid of Marinelli right now.. Don't do it at the end of the year. We've seen how this plays out. IT's time to make a change RIGHT NOW.
Try Eberflus for the rest of the year instead of wasting this time with Marinelli.
There running game is pretty good already. There defense is pretty good already.Wentz is becoming great. A consistent running game and that team becomes a contender.
There running game is pretty good already. There defense is pretty good already.
I believe they are potentially a division winner this year...I don't see much further than that though. It really is a matter of us putting things together on defense and getting anywhere near what we were last year and our running game getting going. 4th quarter was a good sign for the running game, hopefully we can build off of that during the bye.
