So now resigning Garrett just became the number 1 priority ?
It is starting to look like a no-brainer, at this point.

thats a great point. but i think that is easy to do. rod may not be so easy to do but we shall see. jerry is a mighty good saleman
If the defense plays out the year this way it wouldn't shock me if Marinelli got another shot at a HC gig. Yeah, he was historically bad with Detroit, but that team was the total culmination of 7 years of Matt Millen - the one guy on the planet this entire board would happily take Jerry over.
He's certainly well respected around the league and turning this group of players into chicken salad, so to speak, would be a heck of a resume boost.
I don't think there's a cap on coaches, I don't know much about the cap and all that stuff. But if not, just spend what it takes to make him the highest paid assistant. The guy has worked miracles around here.jerry better be ready to open the checkbook for marinelli, his price just went up.
I like this guy a lot. Only scary thing about this is that it makes resigning Rod a must. People have already been saying that Rod's a lock to go back to his old friend Lovie. I wouldn't say I agree, but that definitely can't happen. If Rod goes back to Lovie, we'll see Rolando in a Bucs jersey next year.
@birddog26 posted on twitter he doesn't want to talk contract until he sees what's going to happen with the coaching staff. He likes them very much. Sorry couldn't copy the link
I'm happy he's in Dallas right now, helping the cause, but I don't want to see Dallas get desperate to keep him. He's not that freakin' good. He's been a little slow, and nobody is calling him on it because we're too euphoric over a 6 -1 start. His health has been a little concerning too. These issues don't even get into his past issues before joining the team, which I'm not assuming will remain in the past forever and ever. I know negative comments usually aren't allowed when a teams winning, but enthusiasm can be tempered with some reality, especially when we're staring a big Dez contract in the face, as well as a potentially big overall turnover on defense.
From what I have read, Rolando looked to Nick Saban for advice on who he should play for, and Saban gave Garrett his seal of approval. So I'm pretty sure Rolando is waiting to see if Garrett get's extended.

I think McClain is more concerned about Garrett and Marinelli.
It would be awful if Marinelli left and stole McClain.
I was opposed to giving Garrett an early extension, but getting the coaches locked up through next year will make things a lot easier going forward, rather than waiting til the end of the year.
The most difficult to bring back will probably be Callahan, and I'd hate to lose him.
