Rotoworld is reporting that McClain is in the concussion protocol after complaining about headaches after the game. He was checked during the 4th quarter but was allowed to re-enter. When he did go back in the game they were getting absolutely gashed up the middle. He didn't look right.

Seems odd that he could talk his way back on the field. It looked like he got kicked in the head and when he tried to leave the field he was in distress. It looked like he was shielding his eyes or something, like he had a bad migraine.

Anybody hear anything on this?

Team should face discipline for letting him back in. Seeing his reaction, I immediately thought he was done for several games

Teams will continue to send players out there until a rule finally comes down that completely neutralizes the in-game protocol and bars a player from reentering if he has symptoms that would have previously initiated the protocol. It'll be a long battle though. With performance-based incentives, the NFLPA will face backlash for letting guys miss their escalators on account of a good lick on the first drive of a game, and with star players meaning everything teams will be reluctant to have their treasure troves on the bench.

It seems like they would need a baseline for each guy.

All my years I never had a concussion but I remember a few teammates that were in La-La land. One guy who only played Defense ran out into the Offensive huddle and wouldn't leave. Had to call a TO.

It doesn't take a baseline to initiate the protocol. If teams don't act more responsibly, instead of going to the protocol the players will just go to the bench.

That's fine. Sit him and let's get this abomination of a season over with.

He looked like he didn't know what was going on when he got kicked in the head.

Very surprised the concussion guy that the league has at each game would allow him to reenter.

I had to do a double take when I saw him out there again. I was shocked to see him back in after seeing how he was after getting kicked in the head.

Teams do not always look out for the players in concussed situations.

Back quite a few years ago, we were playing Cal State Fullerton in a huge baseball game. A liner hit to LC between me(LF) and the center-fielder was on a rope. We both dove for the ball meeting in on a head-first collision. I was told that I caught it but it rolled out of my glove as I was laying on the grass.

Fast forward to the end of the game..........I do not remember a minute of it since the 3rd inning yet played all the way through celebrating a win in the end.......and had no idea why it was an important game. I did not even know my name until that night.

To this day, 20 years later, I do not remember anything past the 3rd inning up until about 12 hours later. It is all a blur to me but it is on tape for me to watch myself in la la land :omg:

Aside from the medical issue - which can't be understated - there's the coaching decision. It was very clear that he wasn't able. GB appeared to be running at him and he couldn't cope. Leaving him in cost us any remote chance of winning.

In all seriousness...I didn't think he got kicked that hard....and was looking for an excuse to get out of the game so he wouldn't get trucked by Lacy. ...the 2nd tap out vs Green Bay in less than a year. :(

Isn't he a drug abuser? That might be the problem.

For any concussion protocol you have baselines measured. They do that for high school players in some places. Can't imagine the NFL doesn't have that in place

Maybe the concussion guy had a concussion from being hit with all the horrible play from Dallas.
Just offering a possibility.

Green Bay didn't target him after his return, they had been pounding away running on the nickel defense out of their no huddle spread all day. It just looked worse late.
