I thought McClain gave a much improved effort Sunday. Is he rounding into shape or should the Cowboys plan on dumping him going forward?

Looks to be getting in better game shape however I'm tired of his drama as well... Too many distractions on this team.

What drama...the one perpetuated by the sucky arse media and / or the fans? As in just about everything about this team.

:) I still root for sportsmanship, myself.

Both Randy White and Bob Lilly played on fire...and both were also great sportsmen.

The fact that RoMac is still playing for this team says a lot about the scant discipline that rules this outfit.

It speaks volumes about the desperation that prevails as well. Put 'em both together and hello, RoMac.

If one preaches good discipline as well as right kind of character...then one has to more than give it lip service.

Either get compliance or cut bait for a real fish.

is there any slight possibility we can table this crucial decision until we see how the rest of the year plays out and hell, see what happens in the offseason as well?

at this point we have more dumping to do than an entire constipated hospital ward anxiously awaiting their eventual bedpan moment but do we really need to decide this now?

McClain was signed to a one year deal for a reason. The first half of this season was that reason and when he turns it on for the last eight games it should not be a surprise. He is not a reliable full time solution and we already have one of those locked up with Sean Lee. Dallas needs to go high on a linebacker in 2016 and groom Hitch, Wilson and rookie to be their new linebackers going forward.

I'd hate to be on the decon team for that one...

He missed 4 games due to drug suspension and it will be worse if it happens again.

IMO you ride him out till the end of the season and cut bait after. Id do the same with Hardy. Its too dangerous counting on guys who are one misstep from a lengthy suspension

  • I thought the Dallas linebackers as a whole played one of their best games of the season – at least since Week 2 against the Eagles. It was a banged up group with Rolando McClain and Anthony Hitchens fighting through issues. There were several snaps where McClain was physical at the point of attack in the running game, and when he was called on to play pass defense – he was able to make some space tackles and provide some pop as a blitzer. Despite his bad ankle, Hitchens was all over the field from the Will linebacker spot. He was able to play off blocks with his hands and filled when the ball came at him. I really do like Hitchens when he can play outside -- especially on that weak side, because he has a better opportunity to find the ball and run to it. The linebackers also did a nice job of handling the wheel routes that Tampa tried to get up the field.

He was better after getting off to a sluggish start. Let's see if he can build on that.

Rolando will always be a year a year decision on basically 1 year contracts until the day he departs Dallas (or retires, etc).

He could be 1st team All-Pro this season and due to his inability to stay away from banned substances in the offseason, the Cowboys will alway have to be year to year with him.

For now, all we can do is hope that Ro is rounding into shape and is moving from the category of being a liability to an asset.

I think we so a glimpse of that against Tampa.

He looked far better against TB for sure. I wonder if it was a conditioning issue or working with Hitchens issue or both.

Hurt players take time to get well. Those who miss games due to suspensions, also miss out on the " game day conditioning". It's one thing to practice, but the real battle experience is what prepares and conditions the body to go full out for 3 hours....

If you train for any type of competition you know what I mean...
