I think we can go after Samari Rolle & Julius Peppers..The way to do it is trade Newman for peppers and bring in Samari Rolle..He is just as good as T-New. He is also a little bigger..I like newman but he is more talk than results..Rolle can cover just as good..With peppers & ware bringing the heat upfront..The D could be back in Dallas! Just kicking this around..

And pray tell how are you going to get TNew to renegotiate his contract with another team as well as pay for Rolle and Peppers.

I've never said it but 'This isn't Madden!'.

Does NO ONE understand cap restrictions?

You CAN NOT trade Newman after he signed up to such a huge deal last year because, if you were paying attention, with the fact that next year could be uncapped there are different restrictions in place right now. If you trade, or cut, a player this year, thinking you can pro-rate the cap hit over years still, that's not the case.

You trade Newman now and whats left of the signing bonus he got last year, which was pretty substantial, hits your cap THIS YEAR. All of it.

So now you're going to have his dead money hitting your cap AND you think you're going to sign Peppers, Ware, and Rolle to deals? The Peppers and Ware deals, alone, without a trade of Newman would eat up cap space.

Think people, please, before you start these threads.

Anyone who recommends signing rolle obviously has never seen him play. To put that scrub in the same sentence as Newman is outrageous. I laugh anytime I hear someone mention samari rolle.

Trading T New would cause an additional cap hit of about $7.68 so I don't think that's going to happen.

However his base jumps from 895 k to 9 M next year so I wouldn't be surprised if he is shown the door next off-season..we would have a cap hit around $8.5 M of dead money but it would free up about $2.1 M in cap room.

First, lets clear the air. Stop with the cap talk, the Skins dont talk cap, do you see them in cap hell? Sure they let scrubs walk, something this team should also be forced to do.

Second and most clearly. Rolle is no Newman. You may not like Newman in the past 5 minutes, the media might have given you a clue and you want to run with it, fine. Hes no Newman. Whoever plays opposite Newman is not being targeting because the QB feels he should target the better CB, the QB IS AVOIDING NEWMAN.

Thirdly, with Jenkins, Newman, Scandrick, where do you want Rolle to play and how much or are you counting that we'll be plauged with injuries and you think Rolle might be healthier? You could be thinking this and I might agree.

But in all honestly, we dont need Rolle nor Peppers. This team plays football, we have football players, we just want more out of our coaches at this point.

Right now for Dallas its a wait and see game.

Sorry but the cap comes in to play. Wash doesn't worry about it because they usually pay the bulk of it upfront so they don't have to eat huge hit.

Than they figured it out and know how to acquire players regardless of cap.
