I believe any one of us could ride the bench as well as Jesse Holley.

:laugh2:

True, but many of us wouldn't be good enough to even have a chance to sit on the bench.

Sorry but this is the future, and players saleries are going to keep going up... Look at baseball, plenty of 1 year wonders and free agents get 10 to 15 mil a year. Rolle isn't being greedy here and prolly wont get 8 mil a year, but that's the way you have to start negotiations folks.. Doesn't take a rocket science to know what his agent is doing

Rolle wants $8 million-per-season

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 3, 2010 10:09 PM ET

Conventional wisdom says that the Cardinals will make a strong push to keep safety Antrel Rolle, but they don't want to give him equal money to teammate Adrian Wilson.

Well, something has to give because Rolle wants Wilson money. More, actually. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune writes that Rolle is expecting a deal that averages $8 million-per-season.

That's more than Wilson, Troy Polamalu, and Ed Reed earn on average.

Rolle clearly isn't in the same class as those players. It will say a lot about the uncapped year and odd inequities of NFL free agency if Rolle gets the money he wants.

Perhaps this will end the Rolle to Dallas silliness.

8 mill? Yeah, okay. No one is going to give him that. I bet he ends up settling for 5, which sucks because the Cards offered him 6. It almost makes me think he just wants out of 'Zona.

Not if Washington has any say in it.

i have no idea when my last day is.

that will work when i want a raise.

we scream that players make too much money for what they do, then we shut up and pay them.

Nobody cares about your job and you are easily replaceable. That's the reason you can't ask for the things that pro athletes ask for. People need to stop comparing regular jobs to sports, it's just no comparing. How many people would pay to see you do your job or how many stations would pay for the broadcast rights to televise you doing your job? yeah that's what I thought.

well if he started at 5 mill, then he would have to settle for 3. he is starting at 8 and he may end up around 5-6 mill a year. I take him.

Exactly, he knows he's not getting 8 million. By asking for 8, he'll be getting the number he's really expecting after the dust settles.
