What elite skills did Dixon have?

Just the ability to knock someone the **** out. That was the only thing he was close to elite at. He was a tough guy.

He was definitely a liability in coverage. Also, he apparently had issues being on time.

If you have Dez Bryant's talent, the team will work with you. Dixon did not, so bye-bye.

no biggie. just a snarky reply to a snarky reply

Actually, I wasn't trying to be snarky. I was trying to protect my man:) But for real, I just don't like negativity when its unnecessary. Now if he would have put the post in the form of a question, I wouldn't have jumped all over it:D Anyway, I'm sorry to the poster, the Zone and all Cowboys Fans all over the world. Forgive a Sportsbabe and bring back McLovin.

What the world needs now ... is more McLovin!!!

I'd rather rue Martellus, never could figure out why this team couldn't put his talents to more use. I suspect it was because the OL sucked so bad they had to keep him in to block.

Well, I remember him dropping the ball several times in games. After that, they wouldn't go back to him all day. I remember a few crucial drops on 3rd downs that were drive killers. Do that several times, and the team/QB starts to shy away from you period.

I personally think that Romo just didn't trust him anymore. Bennett needed big time reps and he just wasn't going to get that behind Witten. Escobar has natural hands and never needed the reps that Marty needed.

JMO, of course.

I'm glad he's caught on with another team.....its like the Bears wait for us to get rid of someone just to pick them up soon after lol.

I wish it was here but I understand...or I think I understand why we let him go. Was it ever confirmed why he didn't make atleast the PS?

I'd much rather have him than Heath and said that this offseason but if he's a character issue than I can respect letting him go. I can respect being consistent about that.

That's how I remember it as well, Bennett needed more receiving reps to get in the flow and Dallas needed him to block 99% of the time. Look at him now though, a big bodied red zone producer that puts up some decent RAC yards as well.

Yep, he always had the athleticism and size to do it. Some of the blame lies with the Cowboys too, I'm sure. They haven't been using Escobar a whole lot either... however, I do remember the critical drops and I remember them not going back to him for a good long while.

However, there is no doubt that Marty screwed the pooch with several big drops in his time in Dallas, and he didn't have the best of work ethics or attitude either.

Could be wrong but I just have a feeling, Cowboys will regret cutting Dixon.

Certain things you can fix & teach when it comes to Rookies, I believe Dixon has the tools to become a respectable Safety in this league

Why are we always so quick to label players malcontents? The other "malcontent" Marty B only has 4 TDs so far this year. This team is too talent depleted to allow little disagreements off the field get in the way of making things work out.

I would not consider him a malcontent but I would consider him irresponsible. He was late and warned and then is late again. I have to ask myself would BP tolerate that from a late rd pick or would Jimmy tolerate it? I don't think so. If Dallas does nothing we get to hear about the country club atmosphere and if they do take action then they were foolish.

I don't know Jimmy was the HC of gangster U with the Hurricanes and Cowboys players did not just start partying hard when Jimmy left Cowboys players already had the White House. How much Jimmy knew I don't know but Jimmy would give chances to guys. When it comes to on the field, guys showing up for practice and meetings on time Jimmy cut very little slack. Dixon was warned and less than 2 weeks he is late again.

Thats how Irvin always got away with crap. You could never accuse him of not putting in his work. Thats why he was so awesome.

Why do you see a negative in that? Is it possible he was watching the game last night and had an opinion? Something similar to like we do in here?

It wasn't negative, it seemed random and I figured there was some event that triggered it. Obviously, that event was the Bears playing last night which was not on my radar.
