Romo # 91

There are backups in the league who are far better QBs than Tim Tebow, including our own Kyle Orton and Chicago's Jason Campbell.

The mere fact that Tebow is on the list at all is an insult to all of the hardworking players in the league who HAVEN'T had their jobs handed to them by a fan revolt and the fact that he is only 4 spots away from Romo should be a hangable offense.

91?....really......guess i dont need to watch the other 90.....if its this wack

Pretty much. It saved me from having to watch anymore of the the top 100 just to see centers, kickers and waterboys get ranked higher.

imo Romo is the 7th best qb in the league (assuming P.Manning is back to form). The other day at work I overheard a Cowboys fan ridiculing Romo and I asked him to name the qbs that are better than him, after a moment he says "I guess you're right, I never thought of it that way". He then asked my why I was such a big Romo fan and I told him that I just tell it like it is. When people say that Romo is trash, his stats and qb ranking says different, he's actually a top flight qb. When people argue that he belongs in the class of the elite I tell them hold their horses on that one, he needs to be a better leader and guide his team deeper in the playoffs for that.

Romo should be listed at around top 30 on that list and to be rank 91 is absurd.

"A leaguewide ballot initiative asked current NFLers to list their top 20 players regardless of position. Their responses were the sole criteria for the rankings in this countdown."
That is the basis of this yearly popularity contest of a select number of current NFL players. Each voter has an opportunity to pick twenty players from the entire league for their ballot. Logically, they are picking from acknowledged starters on all 32 rosters. How large is that number?

704

The ballot slices nearly 86% of the figure completely out of the equation. Tony Romo made the cut representing just a tad over 14% of all NFL starters regardless of position.

Fourteen percent. Folks are going to argue about how low Romo fell on this year's version of the players' Who's Who list. That's cool. It is an old argument that's not going to ever stop in my opinion no matter how successful Romo may be in his career.

However, whether folks care or not, this 'flawed' and 'controversial' list states that enough of his voting peers believe that Romo falls within the top fifteen percent of the entire league. It also says that not enough of his voting peers could remove him from that lofty tier by omission either--even if that was their intention.

It does not mean very much to those who think he should be higher on the list. Ironically, it means a lot to those who believe he does not belong on the list at all. What it all basically means, is that no matter how slighted the overall voting had been against Romo, enough of his peers think enough of him to name him as one of the best overall players.

That's an honor. It may not be perfect. Or pretty. Or sit well with a lot of people, but it is an honor. And it cannot be taken away from him as well.

Good post, but he already is.

Well 91 out of the 1500 plus players in the league sure as heck isn't bad.

Beats that crap about being the most "over-rated" player in the league.

If we win more games he's higher on the list, if we win playoff games, he's higher on the list. If our defence played better last year he's higher on the list.

Just the way it goes.

Bold--> True, but I don't think the voters were considering second- and third-stringers in their top 20. Even though that definition does fit Tim Tebow. :)

Romo should be a lot higher than #91. Romo's standing around the league is predicated on the team's success, as well it should be. He is suppose to be the leader of this team.

If Marshall has a problem with it, then everyone here should also. 91 is dis-re-spect-ful!

I disagree with the number as well, but understand where it comes from.
Friggin TBow made the playoffs.

Romo had a superb season last year. He had some mistakes early in year that contributed to us losing the games at the end of them, but only after we were in the lead because of him. BUT, that hurt him on the ranking, I'm sure.

It is Dallas. So it is exaggerated when we do well and exaggerated when we don't.

DE, at the risk of seemingly sucking up, you are my favorite mod. You are so respectful of other peoples opinion. Of course, the other mods are great also. :)

Not certain how many others share your opinion, but I thank you just the same. :)

Thanks for the warning. I can now erase my recording of this POS without having to lose brain cells watching it.

Really glad that some of our own fans believe that it's an honor to be in the top 100 and that Romo might crack the top 12 list of QBs. I'm not sure if it is a drug or IQ problem but enjoy whichever mind numbing fog that is causing your head to repeatedly slam into pavement.

Did I say anything about stats in that post?

You missed the point. Ok, I will play your game. Tell me how Romo is a great leader? I am just playing devil's advocate. Please tell me what you think a leader is and how Romo fits that description? :star:
