Bill was going to make a player earn it, not just give it to them. Bill's rules favored the guys with experience. Simple as that. He has stated before that he would have put Romo in sooner if not for his trust that a vet would give the team the best chance at success.
100%. When he stunk it up in training camp the following year, he wouldn't have been given the starting job.

Romo just like Dak can run an effective 2 minute offense against some of the dogs….even against some good teams every once in awhile. But how many come in a win or go home game?

How are they legitimate talking points for Dak but not Romo? They are having eerily the same career. I get it you guys love Romo. I was there at one point until I started watching other quarterbacks play. He didn’t have more success because he needed more help. That shouldn’t be considered an insult. What’s insulting is people trying to convince us that he’s as good or better than Montana.

Any debate I've had with him, though I didn't agree, he's always been reasonable, and expressed what I feel were his true beliefs...as far as I remember, anyway.

That guy has done some weird tactics in debating. With me and you it’s never gone personal whether we agree or not and it’s appreciated. You have some guys not saying anyone in particular use position anonymously to their advantage and conduct themselves in a way they wouldn’t do in person. So I appreciate that if no one else has said it.
But it wasn’t. And I know people will say we lost to the champs. The Cowboys from top to bottom were a better team. I will stand by that. They should’ve never lost that game. And I’d probably say 2014 and 2007 were his best chances at at least getting to a conference championship. I will never say Romo was a bad QB. But this notion that Dak needs help? He does. As did Romo. Hell as did Aikman.
