Romo and long TD passes

Dallas fans are something else. I just heard Tony and Jason Witten are at the U2 concert tonight @Cowboys Stadium and when Bono mentioned Tony being there, the stadium booed. UGH. Cant believe the fans.

I pray for a mass extermination of stupid Cowboy fans. Either by conversion or pesticides.

Either works.

But Romo sucks and/or cannot throw the deep ball.

i know you're being sarcastic, but how many of those throws were actually deep?

Count me as one of them. An old college friend was giving me crap on Facebook last week about Tony "oh-no". I told him straight up, Tony Romo retires with at least 1 Super Bowl win to his name and I've got $5K that says so. A great crawfishing was witnessed and the wager went unaccepted.

1. explain "crawfishing." It sounds like it means "epic backpedaling." :laugh2:

2. wholeheartedly agree. My dad, a lifelong Cowboys fan, frustrates even me some times....Romo made one poor throw yesterday and he texted me "romo sux...we'll never win a SB with romo"

One of the more meaningless stats I've ever heard quoted.

Actually, I think it speaks volumes as to the "type" of QB Romo is.... and who he should be... not a system QB, an "ad lib" QB that just needs "some" guidelines for his play througout the game.

Whichever is more painful.

Reality might not like the drop in his site traffic, though.

Not a big stats guy myself, but that is not a meaningless stat in any way, shape, or form. And if you wholeheartedly believe that it is, explain why please.

Also, Romo already has three interception-free games this season, which is how many he had in each of his previous three seasons.

Part of Romo’s turnover struggles includes fumbles. He is credited as having one this last game, even tho the bad snap wasn’t his fault. Stats don’t always tell the whole story. He also had a fumble in the Denver game.

We'd survive easily.

No way???

Seriously???

Romo getting booed after a win is just absurd. No wonder Romo plays better on the road, he gets a warmer reception from enemy territory.

i think it perpetuates the notion that he is "clutch".

I loved seeing his almost comeback against Denver. It was truly revealing. Maybe even a glimpse of "the shape of things to come".

With the two to Miles Austin, Tony Romo has now thrown 11 touchdown passes of at least 50 yards in the fourth quarter or overtime of games, which ties him for third all-time (or at least since 1940).

The only quarterbacks with more TD passes of at least 50 yards in the fourth quarter or overtime are Jim Hart, who had 14 from 1967 to 1978, and Johnny Unitas, who had 13 from 1956 to 1972.

Romo is tied with Charley Johnson, who had 11 from 1962 to 1973.

Romo has 1,472 career attempts. Johnson had 3,392, and Hart and Unitas both had more than 5,000.

Strangely, Romo has only seven TD passes of at least 50 yards in the first three quarters of games. Johnson had 19, Hart had 25, and Unitas had 38.

Since 2006, Romo's 18 TD passes of 50 yards or more are easily the most in the NFL. Peyton Manning and Donovan McNabb are tied for second with 10.

Also, Romo already has three interception-free games this season, which is how many he had in each of his previous three seasons.
Thanks Adam, awesome stuff as usual!
