The private Carrie Underwood, suddenly spilling all about her love life with NFL quarterback Tony Romo? Not so fast: Though Underwood seemed to be enjoying a blossoming relationship with the Dallas Cowboy earlier this year — he was her date to the ACM Awards and each flew to the other's side for their respective birthdays — she swears they were never a couple. ''At one point it seemed like that's where it was headed,'' she says, ''but point blank, he is about football. I don't know if it's that I'm not quite his type or whatever, but I don't think he's at the point in his life where he would be willing to sacrifice football. He hated so much that people thought that he was paying more attention to me and that was causing him to not do well.'' (Could she be talking about the fumble last January that helped cost his team a playoff win?) For his part, Romo tells Sports Illustrated, ''I've been lucky to get to know her. We're friends.'' Either way, Underwood continues to be a Dallas cheerleader: ''The Cowboys are still my favorite team — no matter what happens with us.''

I cant believe she actually thought he would quit football for her, i mean hes been sitting on the sidelines for the past couple years as a backup and when he finally gets the starting spot, of course hes not going to give up football.

Spotted looking cozy in NYC October 12: "Gossip Girl's" Chace Crawford and country star Carrie Underwood, who dined a deux at Nobu, then hit hot spot Marquee to sip champagne and smooch in a secluded booth. "They were all over each other," an eyewitness tells Us.

The next night, they held hands during a double date with Crawford's costar Ed Westwick at Italian eatery Del Posto.

Are C and C seeing each other? A friend of the hot new couple tells Us they have been keeping their romance under the radar since July!

They met in May, says the source, when Crawford, 22, introduced himself to the 24-year-old singer (her album Carnival Ride drops October 23) at West Hollywood's Hyde.

After she and Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo split in July, things turned serious: text messages and dates in L.A. and Nashville. "He is a country fan, and she thinks he is so funny and sweet," says the source. "It's total love."

Sounds like gossip columnists might have been right last year when they said Romo-Underwood parted cause football was first with him. Actually I'm glad. We need him concentrating on football, and while she's hot, he'd be better off with a local girl whose available.
