Just came across this tidbit while reading bloddingtheboys.com. Since Romo had problems due to Thomas' playing, you better believe Garrett & Phillips aware of same thing. I'm sure Phillips compared the problems Thomas posed for Romo with Ayodele's play most of the season and really believes Thomas is a big upgrade despite his age. I think I'll go back and take another look at that game and try to track Thomas' play.

Bloggingtheboys.com info:

Mickey Spags most recent novel concerns Zach Thomas. It’s a pretty good article and I recommend that you read it. But in the interest of time, I’ll pull out the two most relevant parts. One concerns the good job the Dolphins defense did on the Cowboys until late in the game when the two teams met early in 2007. Mickey relates what Romo said to him after the game.
I remember Romo telling me a while afterward the Dolphins' defense was extremely difficult to play against. And he said one reason was the Thomas' ability to play the pass from his middle linebacker position; that he still had the speed and savvy to get depth under all those throws down the middle. And I'm darn sure you don't remember Pro Bowl tight end Jason Witten, he of the 96-catch season, caught only two passes in that game, matching his season low.

That's why they hired your hero.

Your Patriots lost the most important game of the the whole season.

Super Bowl has nothing to do with a Zach Thomas - Miami discussion.

Back on topic lets hope Romo is correct and Zach Thomas still has game.

So?

Doesn't mean they don't have some good players or prospects. I'd take Taylor on my team, even if he is getting up there. Ditto on Ronnie Brown. And I'd take Ginn as a prospect.

Atlanta only won a couple of games too. But Abe on the edge would be nice. Anderson as a prospect is intriguing; ditto on Houston. Boley could come here. I'd also take Hall. And Blalock. Norwood too. Roddy White.

I believe Thomas will bring a lot of leadership to this team, specifically the defense, where so much of that is needed.

Did I miss something? Did Nors come out of the closet? Did he officially admit to being a NE fan first and foremost? I have not read many posts by him in the last couple of years. Just wanted to know if he is with us or them. Sorry if I missed something. Working more than ever in my life, second kid on the way etc. Could someone fill me in?

He's still the Tom Cruise of the Zone. Hiding behind the beautiful Dallas Cowboys, but always a dirty little secret lurking in the background.

what the hell is your point? just cuz a team sucks doesnt mean they dont have good players, and that team didnt HAVE thomas most of the season because of an injury, so your making the point that they sucked without him, good job

Yeah, but Nors worships Gene Roddenberry and Tom worships L. Ron Hubbard.
