Glennon will still be around in two years to see the end of his contract. Glennon would see more competition on the market than Romo. Romo is only a fit on 2-3 teams. Glennon could fit on about 20.

Romo is likely looking at a 2 year deal with incentives, the guy is 37 and hasn't played football in two years.

wow. thats all

I'm afraid there will be a bidding war. Teams that are a qb away will be all over Romo like me over some biscuits and gravy. And when this happens, we gonna wish we had held on a little longer and and gotten a mid level pick or better. The only positive out of this is "Jerry takes care of his players?" :banghead:

Not sure if this thread is serious or not. Romo wont get phone calls for a week? Denver is already scheduling his flight, his hotel, his dinner, his tour of the facility, and what ever else a man married for a few years needs.....Its already been reported hes doing a Peyton Manning tour and going from city to city. So please, leave your agenda at the door.

To the OP:

This is the right move for Romo and the right move for Dallas. This is Dak's team now-- but we don't need to pretend Romo somehow isn't a great QB that can help someone win a TON of games-- maybe a championship (I would be ecstatic for Tony if it happened).

Wish him the best and move on. Dak's maturity and development has forced the issue and ended Tony's tenure here. The future is bright-- but this is a bitter sweet moment for sure-- no need to diminish Tony or wish him ill will or failure elsewhere.

You couldn't be more wrong
If released he will be called by at least 4-5 teams with serious interest within 24 hours
Maybe because the current NFL pool of QBs are not that great. Might be with getting Romo for a year while they look for long term

There will be interest but I'm sure teams will have an injury clause in any contract to protect themselves. Don't think Tony can last a whole season. Hope I'm wrong.

The plan at the start of 16 was to start Romo and let Dak sit behind him for a few years. It was a good plan, no one could have predicted Dak being as capable as he became, but that still doesn't mean it wasn't a good plan.

The cowboys can still stick to that plan if they want to by keeping Romo and letting him play off to be the starter. Is he better than Dak? Maybe. He's certainly more experienced.

Instead the team is likely to let Romo walk and go all in behind Prescott. This is a ballsy move any way you slice it.

People have been screaming for Jerry to take off-season risks, here's the biggest one he's taken in years.

Addition by subtraction.

I hope the cap space is well spent or well saved. Honestly, even if Dak is all we hoped and more, I think that this move will set the team back another year from competing. There are still too many holes to fill and Dak and Zeke are still too young.

2018...? Watch out NFL.
