and play he should, if he is going to be our back up in the play offs he needs to knock off the rust pretty quick.

I like the call ( I pray he doesn't get hurt)

Romo is such a wonderful person that I hope will one day be around to play with his children while still upright. I wish him well in his audition Sunday. :flagwave:

Perhaps you are the one who needs reading comprehension lessons.

I said for other teams around the league that have similar institutions. The Steelers, who do not have one, are not included there.

And do you know how many jerseys the Cowboys have retired? I'll give you a hint - it rhymes with zero.

I apologize for my previous posts. And I do this for 2 reasons. First they sound mean spirited and that is wrong. The Cowboys are in the best position they have been in for years and that is something that should be celebrated, and those posts don't honor that. Second, who am I to say how Cowboys should handle the Ring of Honor? The Cowboys are in the best position to make decisions and should be trusted to do so. They have certainly earned that right when it comes to how they want to celebrate the careers of past players, so I've changed my view on that after giving it more thought.

Again please accept my apologies and go Cowboys!

Dak is the QB of this team, nobody in their right mind would argue that after 15 games.
Saying that, can't imagine what all the talk would be IF Dak plays the 1st Q and we end up with no points and then Tony plays the 2nd Q and he throws for 2 TD's.

Again, nothing will happen, no changes would or should be made but you can bet that media and fans would talk non stop about it.

Well he needs to get into game shape in case he is called on. I don't think in the middle of the playoffs is a good time to find out if he is ready or not.

This argument didn't suddenly become compelling now that it looks like Romo will get some reps. It was always good. Keep that in mind the next time you're prepared to completely surrender independent thought to the coaching staff, as you were prepared to do a few days ago.

Meantime, I'm putting you on ignore. I can tolerate differing opinions. What I can't tolerate is a lack of integrity. Besides, if I need the team's view, I can easily access it without reading your posts.

I agree, though Roger retired when I was two. I've only watched him in replays. Also, Aikman would have had monster stats, but the Cowboys gave the ball to Emmitt inside the ten yard line for more than a decade.

Agreed, then again, how many Hall of Famers dis Roger and Troy played with vs what Romo did? Betcha everyone would be talking different about Romo if he played his entire career with a bunch of HoFers.
Not saying Romo is better, just that Roger and Troy had much better teams and frankly much better HC's.

Well when you have 5 good QBs and 2 are in the HOF then yea third is good enough. The Cowboys have been very lucky at the QB position. I understand what you are saying. Five years ago I think I agreed with the statement but I've changed my mind. Tony has kept the Cowboys relevant and it wasn't all his fault that the Cowboys never won a SB. 2014 and what happened to the team last year changed my mind about him. He's about the 7th or 8th best QB of his era so I think that's good enough.

I'm agreement with you about Romo. I probably overrate him myself. I tend to believe he's as good as any other top notch QB in the league. I honestly think he's as good as Brady. My belief of Romo is that he was asked to do far more than any other QB that is considered elite. Eli could throw 3 picks in a game and have his defensive line bail him out. Romo has never been able to have that. And now he arguably has the best team he's ever had while here and he got hurt and lost his job. It truly sucks.

But the lack of post season success whether it was his fault or not is just simply not there. He's not the only one. As of right now Matt Ryan doesn't have it. Phillip Rivers doesn't.

IF I had a vote i'd say put him in. But I also understand the crowd that wouldn't. The decision on him isn't as easy as it will be on Witten and Ware.

Dak should start and get 1 series.. Remember when he did not play in the final preseason game and it said it had an effect on him against the Giants?

I'd play Dak a full quarter just to keep him in the groove - then work down the totem pole with Romo and Sanchez for the rest of the game.

It's going to be so strange to watch our franchise quarterback of the past decade playing in a game that's so meaningless to reserve our starter . For 10 years Romo sat out in these games. With that being said, Prescott earned the right. Crazy world, man!
To be fair, our last game of the season has been meaningless far too many times this last 20 years.
