I am pretty glad that our star players aren't perceived as thugs.

Especially with all of the trash going on in the league right now, it is refreshing to know that our star players are actually good human beings.

Doing community service and charity work does not make you a good human being. I'm not saying these guys aren't good people but we have no idea about how these guys live their lives.

No, it doesn't, but it sure beats them not doing any charity work or community service. Are you this sour about everything in life or just about the Cowboys?

Good point, CHOOSING to do volunteer work is not an indicator of what kind of morals you have  .

Big difference between community service, and charity work. You do realize this right?

There isn't a player in the NFL who did more for charity than Ray Rice.

Yet, how is Rice viewed at this time? Doing acts of charity doesn't necessarily make you a good person. The definition of character is what you do when no one is watching. For some, acts of charity that are public are a cover for a darker side.

Fortunately for fans of the Cowboys, these players appear to be good people.

I'm not sour at all I'm just stating facts. Like another poster said, Ray Rice was considered a humanitarian because of all the good things he did for his community, but look at him now.

What's your point? You stated that these guys are "good" guys because you see them in aprons serving food. Like I said before, they may be good guys, but basing that on them serving food to others is a little naive.

I guess i.ll be the debbie downer devils advocate too, but dont the players 'have' to do some of this stuff? Thanksgiving they all go serve meals at the salvation army, doubt the all want to be doing that

Yep, Ray Rice did a lot of great stuff for the community, so maybe he deserves a second chance. Heck, seems like almost everyone is saying that he told the Ravens exactly what happened and the spin came from the Ravens and the NFL, not from Rice. While I never condone hitting a woman, there was alot going on between them both that for most would be unacceptable behavior. Add in alcohol and it was an explosive situation. As far as we know, this was a one time occurrence and his girlfriend/wife stayed with him. I know that all these abuse groups have ridiculed her and said she is making a mistake but no one besides the two of them what kind of relationship they have and if this was truly typical behavior from Rice.

As for our guys, I prefer to accept that they are good guys until I am proven wrong.....I give people the benefit of the doubt. And while some charity work or community service is mandated by the team, these guys that have established their own foundations are usually going above and beyond what is expected of them.
