There will always be an outlier to any group of data. Always will be unfortunately. I think there is a clear distinction between the quality of character our team has, compared to let's say the 49ers.
The funny thing is, no matter what we try to tell ourselves, we have zero idea what quality of character of any of these guys have. We can guess at football character, based on guys seemingly sacrificing for the team, or playing hurt, but without being in the locker room, we have no idea. Off the field, it's even moreso. Guys can be seemingly terrific citizens, and charitable in their endeavors, but they can be absolute menaces at home. The bubble on people feeling like they knew their athletes or heroes ended when O.J. Simpson was accused of murder, and all of the information about his serial spousal abusing was made public. There were few people who had a higher Q rating than Simpson - and this was while he was a dirtbag at home.
Yes, the Cowboys seem like they are good, solid guys with character. In reality, we have no idea whether this is true.
