anybody think we should play it safe with Romo and rest him till after the bye?

I respect the guys toughness, just don't want to lose him for the rest of year because we were being short sighted.

It's in the cards. If he does play, it should give the offensive line extra incentive to keep him clean.

If this was against the Lions and Suh, I'd say give him a ****ing week.

Let him play and change the playcalling around his injury.

About time you posted.

No, he has the team inspired. Sitting him now is a backwards step.

So do we know if it's a collapsed lung or a puncture? I wonder if it's 50/50 if he plays or note? I think Hos is correct by saying we'd be taking a step back if he sits.

I definitely want Romo to heal without risking any further damage, but if he can go, then by all means.

Dude has a punctured lung. If he takes another big hit there and the lung collapses, there's a chance he dies. Is it even worth debating that that isn't worth the risk?

Though Hos seems to know who you are, let me say:

:welcome:

I am not a doctor but if there is chance of further serious injury due to the puncture - which I would think is very possible - then you have to sit him. Give Kitna the reps this week with the young kids and have Romo ready just in case the show heads south.

If you're going to have the franchise QB ready then he should be in there anyway.

Didn't Garrett say he'll probably play? We need him, but this really scares me.

If there was serious risk of further injury, I dont think the league would let Dallas play Romo.

I am sure Romo has to be checked out and medically cleared to play before any decision can be made. If the doctors say it is too risky to play Romo, then the team really doesnt have a choice in the matter.

I dont really think that is the case. If so where would be no consideration at all about playing him. All sources saying he has a chance to play, no one is going to risk his life.

I almost consider this a must win with this tough schedule ahead

Sit him for this week. Most would agree Kitna is at least on par with Rex Grossman. I think the Cowboys can beat a Grossman led team with Kitna. It's time to lean on the running game and let the defense win this one.

It's not like he doesn't have 2 of them, jeeeez

Well you also have to protect your franchise QB so he can actually be a franchise QB.

Although in this case, I think Romo plays and I'm fine with that.

Yeah I really don't want him to die. I think you have to let the doctors tell you it's ok.

If the doctors feel like it's something he can play through with pain, then let him play.

If they feel there is real risk of further injury, then Dallas won't play him.

Without knowing the true extent of the injury, I don't think anyone here can really say if he should play. Luckily, the NFL can afford doctors to do that.
