Romo interview

Getting all nostalgic in this thread and making me miss the days when we had a real QB. A ton of people hated him, but Tony Romo was the best QB we've had in 20 years. And, will probably be the best QB we've had in the next 20 as well.
he was our huckleberry.

The issues and concerns we have with this offense and team are leading this rhetorical backlashing,

Dak had an opportunity his first season to silence all of the Romo talk. But he didn’t and it will continue until either Dak or someone else comes in and leads us to at least a championship game.

The Romo faithful don’t care if Romo hurts himself again why would anyone else? And Romo is willing and able.

Romo could be in a full body cast and we would average more than 13.7 points per game. He's not coming back, whatever and such, but even if he did come back he would be a better option than what we have.
Worse case scenario is we’d have an injured Romo on the sidelines helping coach Dak up and input on calling plays.

Well apparently I have been wrong in assuming Romo was done. The back issues didn't sound good at all, but he says that would be the least of his worries. Just haven't seen to many people with bad back issues suddenly not have them. But who knows.

Well bring him back then. If that solves the offensive issues, great! It may be a story book ending just like the beginning.

The only back issue that would have been a problem was the disc. He missed one game for that, and his core was in much better shape when he retired than it was in 2014 when he should have been MVP. With him playing golf, I'd say it's likely his core is still in much better shape than it was in 2014.

tony is not coming back and the only reason some people are saying that is because starting with the atlanta game last year all we keep seeing week after week game after game is really bad quarter back play

We don't know if it's a myth or not, but given that he got injured in 2 out of the 4 games he played in 2015, then got hurt again in the only preseason game he played in in 2016, it's natural there wouldn't be a lot of confidence in his body holding up.

What would prevent Tony from returning is the excessive amount of steroid shots he’d take on a weekly basis in 2014. He didn’t take one to start 2015 but in that last game winning drive opening day 2015 he took a bad shot which should have been flagged. They mentioned because of that hit he took a shot the week leading up Philly (week 2)

I want Romo back just because at the very least it’d be entertaining but those steroid shots definitely impact your bone density and make you more prone to fractures.

He hasnt been a passing threat until he got absolutely demolished by Atlanta last year and our coaching staff decided to keep doing what they were doing instead of leaving Chaz on an island.

Every year is a different story. He's had an entire off season to shake the Atlanta game. He's just bad right now and I don't see any hope of him getting any better. Maybe they should go back to limiting the playbook and limiting his reads to one side of the field.

I never read much of this bread, but I just wanted to say I think Romo can still play and I would LOVE to see it. He’s my favorite Cowboy of all time.

Besides that, with the new rules, the league is made for Romo. He wouldn’t have to worry about getting hit anymore he could just sit back and hit receivers all day long, let zeke run all day. Would be quite the potent offense with Romo calling the shots again.

Or maybe, just maybe, stop trying to turn him into a pocket passer and let him play his game and tailor the offense to his playing style and not theirs? Just an option

This was when he was healthy.

Yikes.

And you want him back now? lol

Odd, then how is he the highest rated 4th qtr passer in his era? Looks like a contrived stat if it is even accurate. 4 minutes, 6 minutes, 3 yrs, 4yrs,5 yrs.2 yrs

Naw, the coaches believe in their preparation. We hear it every week. Can't change now without admitting you've been wrong for quite awhile.
