Romo put the ball on the money to Terry Glenn from the opposite hash on an out pattern. Yeah its one throw but it showed he can make that pass. Not sure why someone attacked his out pattern to be gin with. Watch the replay.

That's actually the play I'm talking about. I am well aware he put it on the money. I'm not questioning his accuracy. It was a nice pass.

The point is, he doesn't have the arm to make that a high velocity throw and squeeze it in there.

Why is everyone taking offense to this? It's not a big deal - you don't have to have a Howitzer to be a good QB. I'm just saying he doesn't have Favre-Arm.

Didnt take offense to it just saw some camparisons with Pennington :lmao2:

No one in the league has an arm like Brett and Vick but there are plenty of QBs that are killing teams. I am hoping like everyone else Romo will be one of these guys.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about arm strength. I personally think he has MORE THAN ENOUGH arm strength.

QB's that rely on arm strength usually tend to start thinking that they can force a pass somewhere that it shouldn't. See Brett Favre.

Did Montana have a canon for an arm? Hardly. And I don't even like Montana.

Just give me a QB that can make all of the throws that he needs to make, and have him make those throws accurately.

His deep outs are average. Troy Aikman was master of those, and it's why he didn't need to be mobile or run sprints. Aikman was perfect for running Gibbs/Zampese's timing offense.

Romo probably needs to sprint to the sidelines (ala Walsh's WCO) before throwing an out pattern, but this restricts his ability to attack the whole field.

The kid who started this thread is waaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of himself of course. But you're reaching too. What is your opinion based on? How many deep outs have you seen him throw? I gurantee it isn't more than 2 or 3. I'll withhold judgement on that too.

What he's got that I like is the pocket awareness, he make the step up, or slides to the side to avoid pressure, while keeping his eyes downfield, then he makes his decision and quickly delivers the ball. Looks very polished for a guy with limited game time.

Can't believe I didn't see this thread before... It's so similar to the I Told You So thread now being shredded.

I can't believe I didn't see it on the game film. Must have been an ebay commercial I missed. Or did we have a clown running the offense??

It's so clear he has "it...":lmao:

Shredding? Perhaps in that tiny brain of yours. I'll give you shredding. You are a fng moron. You're arguing with me that Bledsoe should still be starting when anyone with half a brain could see he was done. Do yourself a favor, put me on ignore. No longer interested in your responses to what I have to say on this forum.

I think Tony will be pretty solid. I read today's USA Today where it stated Gil Brandt said Tony did pretty good in his 4 day combine. Gil says he has that "it" that you look for in a NFL QB.

Obviously Romo can't do it by himself, but with the team he has around him, no way this kid can fail. Atleast I hope he doesn't - I'm pulling for him, if he goes 2 to 3 more games playing like last Sunday night, I'm going to have to find me a Romo jersey. :)
that sig is friggin awesome.

Nice... resorting to personal insults. I guess when you have no leg to stand on, the claws come out huh?

And when have I argued with you that Bledsoe should be starting??

Don't put words in my mouth. Troll.

Since he said he's going to post every week how "he was the first person right on Romo," whether or not Romo has a good game, just to rub others' noses in it. He said those of us who don't agree with him better avoid the forum.

It's pretty obvious that he won't be reasoned with. That's a troll in my mind.

Oh also... he's putting words in my mouth. Very trollish. Either that, or he can't keep up.

Ever since pre-season I was convinced of this. If we say it enough even the disbelievers will begin to believe. As the weeks go by the wagon will eventually grow to standing room only proportions. ;)

romo is a guy lacking in starters experience - but with plenty of savvy. he understands the nuances of the game. his feigned "step-up" on the 2-point conversion to owens is a prime example. at game-speed he instinctively knew how to draw up the linebackers. i guarantee you that if you gave bledsoe another ten years of experience - that move never would have occurred to him.

tony just seems to have a "feel" for the game. call it heigtened instincts or perception or whatever.

i just get the feeling he will frustrate enemy defenses for years. and make being a cowboys fan a real hoot.

For those who believe he is going to be a career backup, or nothing more than a bus driver please dont ruin on this thread.

I feel like he has the ability to be an Elite QB, Im not talking Hasselbeck, or Bulger elite. Im talking Brady, Big Bro Manning elite.

I mean what exactly is his weakness?

Not a super arm
and impulse throws

really can you think of anything else? i cant.

Remember Tom Brady turned the ball over once every 27 throws his first year.

Romo showed during the Carolina game that he can keep mistakes to a minimum.

During his first start Romo turned the ball over once every 36 throws. Im not counting the Giants game, because its not the situation his is going to be in ever again IMO. It was a unique situation.

If he can keep the turnovers to a minimum he will be special, i guarantee you:D

Did you know Tom Brady was sacked once every 10 pass attempts his first year?

So far Romo once every 15 throws

First of all, I'm as stoked about Romo's performance last week as anybody. And if he continues to play as consistently as he did in that game (except with a higher TD/INT ratio) then he is going to be very, very good indeed.

But what was so unique about the Giants game situation? Are you talking about the fact that it was his very first meaningful playing time? If so, you are correct. But if you're saying he will never be in a situation where he is 5 points down, facing a powerful pass rush and playing against a very fired up team; that's ludicrous. He will be in that situation many times in the future.

I'm not bashing him. In fact I chalk that experience up to a case of the jitters his first time on the stage. Totally understandable; and he certainly got it together last week.

Where's the post from last week declaring that Romo throws a 57 MPH football when you need it?

This team has a significantly better chance of realizing its potential with Romo at QB. That makes him special. For now anyway.

Romo will be playing against a desperate, fired-up team this week. We'll see.

I think we are forgetting that the Commanders have a full house of talented defensive coaches who have shredded Romo's game film from last week and will devise defenses to take away what Romo was successful with last Sunday.

I doubt very seriosly that TO is going to catch 10 passes on the Commanders. They will double-cover TO and force Romo into throwing into coverage to hook up with him. We'll see if Roomo can adjust to the 'Skins taking TO out of the game.

My feeling is that this team has tremendous difficulty sustaining momentum from one week to the next and has a significant chance of losing this week.

Carolina was a hugely emotional game and I expect the team to return to form and play a below-average game. Especially on offense, where we continually start slow and have to play catchup.

This means defense on the field for too many plays and Romo having to find other ways to move the offense and forcing somethings that might produce bad plays.

If this game was at home, I'd feel better about this game. But I'm not convinced Romo has this QB position locked up.

Infact, I'm pretty certain that Bledsoe is going to be called back in to start, despite the bandwagon hitching to Romo.

I believe that before the first game in December has come and gone, that Bledsoe will be starting again. As crunch time nears to pursue the playoffs, each mistake with Romo will get magnified and I think that while he has some talent..

..that Bledsoe will be there to finish the season.

Not in my wildest dreams do I believe that BP is going to sink or swim with Romo if the mistakes pile up. And I think they will.

I'm not rooting against Romo and for Bledsoe, but I think that this team still needs both to succed and BP will pull the trigger on another QB change if things don't go well in these next two road games.

Because after that, with as many home games as we have to finish the season, we are going to have to go with the experience at QB to run the table in December possibly.

So love Romo, but don't bury Bledsoe.

This benching of Bledsoe right now could be the best thing for him. He can see what Romo is doing with getting the ball out of there quickly does and if he gets back in to play, will need to do the same thing in reading his progressions.

Bledsoe is a tough guy and good competitor. I'm suspecting that if he gets back in there, he'll play well.

I don't think Bledsoe is gone yet. Alot depends on how the entire team plays and whether or not we can string several wins together right now with Romo.

We'll see.
