Romo Is To The Cowboys, What Rodgers Is To The Packers

I agree Romo is better. He improvises better and does more with less. Anybody could succeed in Rodgers' position. Romo is a better pure passer as well. He can always find the best guys open. He's also more clutch. Look at his 4th quarter passer rating. Romo also does better at controlling an offense and audible-ing unlike Rodgers who is really just a plug and play in that system of his.

Really? Because Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and James Jones are all supremely talented WR's? lol

They're no scrubs, that's for dang sure.

Jordy Nelson / Randall Cobb / James Jones / Jemichael Finley / Eddie Lacy > Dez / Miles / Williams / Witten / Murray

Though, to say Romo is better than Rodgers is quite a stretch, Rodgers has the potential to go down as the best QB to ever play the game.

Arm Strength? Rodgers. Mobility? Rodgers. Accuracy? Rodgers. Improvising? Romo. Awareness? Romo. Ability to extend a play? Romo. Cutchness? Romo.

Yah I said it, Romo is more clutch than Rodgers. :D In all seriousness though, both QBs have things they do better than the other. Rodgers is better than Romo as a typical pocket passer, but Romo has better awareness in the pocket and he's better at extending plays. Both are great QBs, but only one of them will go down as one of the greatest ever, and that's Rodgers. That is if he continues his outer worldly production.

I agree to a degree but let's also remember that Dez would easily be their best receiver and Orton would easily be the best QB on their roster as of right now excluding Rogers.. IDK if we would look as terrible without Romo..

Packers without Rodgers --- probably a 3-13 team

Cowboys without Romo --- probably a 5-11 team

not a huge difference but just wanted to throw that out there

One thing I've noticed about Rodgers is he is terrible at coming back . In other words most of the packers wins are by double digits . When he has to come back he is very unimpressive .

True. He and the Packers suck at coming from behind.

Funny. What happened to the Pats when Brady went out with knee surgery?

That was a much different team with a lot more offensive talent. This years Patriots are a very good example of a team that's dead in the water without Brady.

The importance of the QB is astronomical in today's NFL. The reason the Patriots have been able to dominate the AFC East is because of Brady ... and the other teams don't have a Brady. Take him away, and it's a 4 team race.

Same goes elsewhere ... a good QB makes up for a tremendous amount of deficiencies in a team. I would believe that our 5-11 teams back under Campo were playoff caliber teams if we had a reasonable QB under center.

But that doesn't preclude us from looking for Tony's replacement ... soon. The less time we spend between franchise QB's, the less time we wander in the forest. Heck, look at the Jets and Bills ... perennial losers because they don't have a QB.

Looks like Philly found a quality QB in Foles. Washington may be turning to Cousins soon.

Wish we would have been looking for an eventual replacement when Wilson and Kap were drafted.

and Rothlisbeger is to the steelers, and Manning is to Denver, and Brady is to the Patriots, and Brees is to the Saints.

The highest paid player on the team, and the leader of a offense that have to carry the team. and he should be, and he should perform.

Period.

Still don't understand all the QB comparison but since we're here... The year Rodgers and the Packers won the Super Bowl, wasn't he the most sacked QB in the league that year?, and his defense one of the league's worst? Point being, he almost single handily willed that team throughout the playoffs and super bowl. Not saying he won it all alone but when your defense is in disarray and you spend half the game on the ground but are still able to keep winning with a low int rate... Anyhow I don't think the comparison. Is as close as being made but that's just me, and once again being compared to a SB MVP.... This comparison should wait till Romo gets his own ring and in this case his stats don't win the argument.

That season's packers defense was bad but not as bad as some thinks. They led the league in turnovers and held opposition to 20 points or less in 12 of 16 games, I wish our defense was that bad. Also, during they playoffs, their defense really stepped up and played well,
