I think its more damning on the player. It has taken Dez 3 years to learn his first position. Outside right WR. All the ins and outs. Reading the defenses and getting on the same page with his QB at that position. He isnt moved around as much on the Offense cause he is a mental midget and doesnt know the whole playbook and all the defensive reads for all the WR positions. Only his own. Talent only gets you so far. And until he learns all the positions ... he is incapable of being moved around. He has to suffer the double teams and be taken out of games.

Edit:
Still think he deserves a contract like megatron and Fitz? Me ... not so much.

Wrong, because this was the same complaint by TO and that was TOs bread and butter...

Not if our WR routes are directly in the teeth of the defense...

Funny, it appears to be that way doesn't it? When my kids were growing up, we would play backyard football and I would have to remind them not to run to the person covering them.

Here, I think the D just knows where our WRs are going to be most of the time, so it appears that they are running the route for our WRs.

Dez Bryant is a very good WR. Maybe even great. Having said, he isn't a good as you think he is. Maybe he can get there.
Man to man inside the 10, who can cover him without knowing the route beforehand? Not revis. Maybe Patrick Peterson? Dez is bigger and faster than corners, and he goes and gets the ball as well as anybody. There aren't 5 WRs in the league with his skillset.

Dez is possibly the best WR in the NFL inside the 10. Outside of the 10, he isn't.

He is still a top 10 overall WR, but all this "Dez is the #2 best WR with the potential the be #1" talk about here is that -- talk.

These guys get paid for what they do inside the 10...

And, other than Calvin, I'm not sure who is a better receiver than him. B Marshall? D Thomas? Fitz? I think you could make a case for him against any of those guys.

If Dez is constantly being double teamed, somebody is open and T. Romo is just not finding him.

This isn't basketball. Just because someone is doubled doesn't mean someone else is open. It means they're being single covered. They still need to beat their man, which they're not doing.

What on earth is our coaching staff doing? Are they that inept?
[/quote]

Nail on the head. Yes, our offensive coaching staff is inept. Poor offensive philosophy, poor play design, poor play calling all adds up to being inept.

Oh please. You're the dude who said he was a possession receiver. He is a top five guy hands down, put him with Brady or Brees and those coordinators and he is unstoppable.

Who has time for theoretical mental gymnastics like that? I'm sure Fitz would looks great catching the ball from Brady or Manning too. What would Andre Johnson's stats look like if had a decent QB throwing to him?

I'm not saying he might not be top 5. He definitely is top 10. What I am willing to say he is has proven yet that he deserved to be considered the hands-down #2 WR in the NFL at this point.

When has JG shown even the slightest hint of knowing how to utilize the personnel he has to the best of their ability?

Fitz might have Bryant's numbers in the same environment, at this point Johnson wouldn't be close. No one plays press coverage with two guys on Johnson at this stage of his career.

I don't think Williams is the issue. Williams is a number two receiver and put a nice double move on to score on that touchdown. The problem is when the Saints marched down the field we went pass, pass, pass, punt. Murray had 80 yards a TD at half time, why the hell would you go away from the run. AP gets a ton of negative yard runs and then he breaks a 50 yarder for a TD. Murray is a phenomenal back when healthy and you can see the improvement in YPC from him to the other terrible backs. Im not sure I understood any of the play-calling. Run, Run, Pass. How about play action, run, pass, or pass, run, play action? Yawn

They adjusted to our running game, thats what teams do. Well, teams besides Dallas. They adjusted and shut us down. Romo has to throw the ball into tighter windows, and he cant just say, welp they have two on Dez so Im not even going to look his way. Not to mention he had happy feet and was bailing out of the pocket before he needed to.

in those highlghts vs N.O. last year, he was single covered on all of those highlights. he's getting true superstar treatment this year. miles needs to come back asap. the rest of our receivers are overrated.

You know we are in desperate straights when the savior for the offense is Miles "Hamstring" Austin.
