"I'm going to miss Tony Romo," Lee said. "We've got a great relationship because we're so open and honest with each other. I gave Bill a list of four things that Tony has to do to get this thing to the next level."

ZONERS--what do you believe ROMO needs to improve on?

My list

1. Protect the football......

2. Work on arm strength

3. Throw the ball away when the play breaks down

4. Keep Carrie Underwood off the field

CC are you still upset that Bobby finished with more tackles in the season then you did? ;)

He needs to just play ball and stop trying to think like Parcells. When he first started out, he was hitting strike after strike, after Parcells got into his head, he started to wait a bit too long to throw the ball (IMO) to keep from making mistakes.

Parcells needs to STHU and let Romo use his instincts to make plays. He needs scrambling awareness.
When he decides to move around in the pocket, he has to understand that a sack is not always a bad thing, but a fumble is devastating.

He needs more power in his throws and just a little more accuracy on his sideline fades. Other than that, don't change a thing Romo, keep being who you are and doing what you do.

1. Keep your head up when things go badly
2. Hold onto the ball at all times. Try to protect the ball better when running with it.
3. Think before you throw. While you don't want to take a sack, throw it away when the play's gone.
4. Try to keep your eyes on the whole field, instead of locking on.

My best shot.

:lmao2: good one.......

kid 05, actually I am very pleased at how much improvement Carp showed over the past 4 weeks of the season.....and especially how well he played in the playoff loss.

I have big hopes that Carp can keep up the improved play and become the player we all hoped for when we drafted this guy.

You bring up several valid points about BP messing with his head, therefore, it is extremely important that we hire a great QB coach and not a BP puppet.

I don't buy that. Parcells has been coaching him for 4 years, he didn't say anything new to him this year, that he hasn't been telling him for the other 3.

The problems Romo had this year, was he tried to do to much with the ball at times, mainly because our D was not stopping anyone. I think you will notice that has the D struggled, so did Romo. The reason he was late on throws that he was making earlier in the year, was because he was looking downfield more,, waiting for it to develop and when it didn't it was to late to go elsewhere.. earlier, he was looking then moving on to the other reads. I don't think it had anything at all to do with Parcells,, of course, I don't have blind hatred for the man either.. so i might be biased.

Before the Playoff game Parcells said, "Tony knows what I want now, more than before."

That statement says alot. In other words, when he was not doing what BP wanted we were winning games. Then when Romo started playing like Parcells wanted, we started losing games.

Ya know, when we hired Parcells I made a tougne in cheek comment, joking that Parcells who was an old NFC East rival was coming here to make the team worse.

Maybe I was closer to being right than I thought.

WHile I still don't belive that, honestly, I cannot figure Parcells out. He took a player with great potential in Roy and makes him play out of his element. He takes another player with great ability in Ware and turns him into a coverage OLB.

We had a guy who was proven at DE and was our only pressure guy till Ware got here and switched him to OLB (Ellis) and then we get Romo in there and he plays lights out for 5 weeks and then Parcells gets into his head and he looks like the second coming of Ryan Leaf.

I think the 4 things Romo needs is to:

1. Pay no attention to Parcells.
2. Pay no attention to Parcells.
3. Pay no attention to Parcells.

and finally and most importantly....

4. Pay no attention to Parcells.

Sort of like my step son's jump shot. It's pretty ugly, but it goes in. So his coach told him that his shot is ugly, I told him that Vinnie Johnson from the Detroit Pistons had the ugliest shot I've ever seen, but he was deadly. I told him to perfect that ugly shot, no one will care what it looks like.

Same with Romo - The guy has the instincts to get the ball out quick, and near the end of the year, I saw one play in particular where TO was opened, Romo had a split second to make the throw, he waited a second too late before throwing it, the ball wound up knocked down.

I dont really buy it either. I think as much as anything not only did the circumstances we found ourselves with the defense play a role, but just even more importantly how other teams started defending us.

About the same time as Romo took over our running game stopped working for whatever reason. As an opposing defense studying us, how many of those 11-25 type halfs did they need to see out of JJ before they decided wait a minute.. that team cant run a lick. They wont be able to block us so not only do we not have to play honest against the run, we can flat out cheat against the pass.

In that way Romo is about like JJ when it comes to wondering if BP screwed him up. I dont happen to think that happened either it's just that when JJ was doing some things last year or the year before you only have to look at some of those highlight clips to see that there was some holes you could drive a semi through. This year I rarely saw any of those. Not to say there wasnt some things there for JJ to take that he might've missed, but yeah.

Romo had wide opened receivers and flat out missed them. He had deep fades that were there and mis-fired. Not only do I think Parcells over coached him, but I think Parcells also put cuffs on him with certain plays.

When a QB goes into a funk, you devise short passes, screens, end arounds, flea flickers, quick hitches (last 2 games I saw none of those)

I don't think he can improve on arm strength too much really. He's got an average to slightly above average arm. Now that Jamarcus Russell is another story. I think he can throw to the moon!

Eh, I dunno.. I'm ready for him to move on but I find some of this ruining of players stuff pretty far fetched. It's like some stupid skit on tv.. start off in 4 or 5 games with 10 TD's and 2 Int's... stop it.. I hate when you do that! Do it this way instead. Well hang 40 on everyone.

JJ have some huge games rushing.. stop it.. I hate those! Forget 200 yards you could get 300 if you do it this way!

Especially when in the past he's gotten career years out of players and teams when noone else could do it. Just seems odd to me that at 3 previous stops it could be said he got the most out of some players and then here he's on a mission to screw up all these supposedly wonderful players.

But anything is possible I suppose.

Really dont think #2 is a problem at all. Sometimes he throws some rockets when he has to fit a ball in tight space.

You can scratch #4 of that list as well.
