I know it's sacrilege to say, but I like both players. Prior to the Romo phenomenon, I think most would've said Roethlisberger with no hesitation.

Roth is playing better than he's ever played and I think if he were on the 'boys, we would be just as happy with his production.

That said, I'm completely happy with Romo right now.

I CALL BS! There is only ONE Super Star Dallas Cowboys QB. Then you have the schlep to backs him up.

It's about a lot more than just being "good," at least in my opinion. I can't imagine a more perfect guy to lead America's team than Tony Romo.

Who would you rather have now and in the future?
I already did VY and Romo, so i figure this one will be close just because these 2 players are so close in terms of style of play.

Romo is ours and I would not trade him for any QB out there. He fits like a glove with the Cowboys. I see more than just ability in Romo I see a guy who the players will follow as well as I think Romo love of the game is something that is infectious. Not a knock on Big Ben I think the guy is a very good QB but Dallas has their leader.

I have been hard on BR over his first few years, accusing him of only being a bus-driver, etc.

But I do see him improving steadily.

I don't agree with the recent John Elway comparisons, but he is a good QB, and getting better.

Having said all of that, it is not even close that I would rather have Romo. He is such a competitor on the field, and finds ways to make it work.

He can beat you with his arm or his feet. He spreads the ball around remarkably well which makes it hard for defenses to find a way to stop our offense.

Romo seems so humble and real, a great guy to be around.
Whereas Brady seems stiff and full of himself.

I can't wait to see Romo when he is a 3 or 4 yr veteran.

I PICK ROMO!! :star: :starspin :star:

I still can't believe that after looking through all of the young "up and comers", the "ex-baseball players", and the "aging veterans" for a QB to replace Aikman, that we found Tony Romo in the proverbial trash-heap known as "undrafted Free Agents."

Ben Roethlisberger is having a great year this year and yes he does have a SB ring, he did a good job of managing his team in 2005 in route to winning SB. He wasn't asked to win the game, just manage it and don't lose it. In SB, the team won despite Ben's horrible performance, he was 9/21, 123 yards, 2 INTs w/whopping 22.6 passer rating but then it was his rookie year so it is understandable.

Romo has only played one playoff game, and he did perform relatively well, leading his team down to the field for a FG kick to put the 'Boys ahead with little time left but we all know what happened but that mishanding had nothing do to with his QB'ing abilities, but we lost.

As of right now, although Ben is having a great season, I don't believe he is playing as well as Tony is and as far as abilities goes, I would favor Tony because of his mobility, escapability, however, we have to keep in mind that Ben does have more game and bigger stage experiences.

You can't go wrong with either players. Both are great young QBs and I don't think there is no right or wrong answers, just preference of one QB over another.

Romo and Big Ben are basically the same person. They both complete a good percentage of their passes, they are slippery in the pocket, and they are good for an interception a game. The only difference is Big Ben is a bigger version.

Big Ben is a statue.

He doesn't have moxie.

Hes slow.

He has a long wind up when throwing.

He can't win a game in the 2 minute drive when it matters.

:laugh2: you sir are just a big a Cowboys homer as I am a Michigan homer.

I like your style but Big Ben is pretty much the opposite of all those things you said.

The Browns game alone tears apart half of your statements.

He brought his team back from a deficit with his moxie, arm AND legs.

The guy had a 30 yard run for a TD and threw for 3 or 4 TDs.

I'm not so sure I'd agree that Ben is slippery in the pocket while he does pretty decent job, he has been sacked 23 times this season already, while Tony has been sacked just 13 times.

Big Ben is a pretty good QB I cant remember what the exact stat is but when he's contacted by a defender when he's moving in the pocket his QB rating is insane so the talk of him being a statue in the pocket is false on that note though Romo is just a lot more fun to watch during games I sit and wait to see what other improve he's gonna do in the game to keep the chains moving. Romo is the perfect fit for Dallas while Ben fits for Pittsburg.

I actually like Big Ben a lot, and I think he's only going to get better...

However, at this point, the one thing that shouldn't be overlooked is how much more the Cowboys put on Romo. The Steelers don't do that as much with Ben. So that would be the tie-breaker, if I needed one. Advantage: Romo

By the way, I didn't need a tie-breaker. Romo would be my guy anyway ;)

I'd rather have Romo because you can lean on him more. Roethlisberger averages 5+ attempts less per game. And over the last 2 years, when asked to throw more than 30 attempts in a game, Roethlisberger has a 65.5 QB rating. Romo, in contrast, has a 89.16 QB rating when asked to throw over 30 passes in a game.

The guys on Mike and Mike were talking about this the other day. They had a ranking of the young QBs in the league with a good deal of experience. For some reason they threw in Derek Anderson but their rankings were pretty much.....think they were talking 27 and younger too but it was something like this.

1. Big Ben
2a. Romo
2b. Carson Palmer
4. Rivers
5. Eli Manning
6. Derek Anderson
7. Jason Campbell

They may have had a couple of them switched in the middle but Campbell was last, Big Ben at #1 with Romo and Palmer interchangable. They ranked the 2 and 3 guys but were so back and forth that they may as well have just said flip a coin.
Anyone who puts Big Ben over Romo or Palmer needs their head examined. Big Ben is a very good QB, but he's not even in the same zip code as Romo and Palmer.

Dude tried to be Evel Knievel that one offseason, and look how that turned out...
