Romo Should Not Play Skins

can we play him til hes broken and than say "wonderful another wasteful season" yes he might get hurt anytime no i dont want to push him in front of the bus if need be. either chalk this up to a loss and send McGee out there, or tell Kitna make it competitive but no way do we send Romo out there while our Oline is still handled by Houck, who the cowboys wont get rid of til our QB is dead and than they still might not consider it.

It's going to be a task without Romo.

We're unbelievably banged up right now.

and all the other weapons that will either be out or dinged up. Its a winnable game, from a person who wont be on the field or on the sideline but once again once that ball is kicked its a whole new world out there, and frankily if we didnt feel Kitna was going to help knowing Romo was going to get injured at some point, why are we hanging on to McGee as well?

You're either going to have to play those guys or try to win and sit there and wonder "why is my qb dead, i cant see it, theres no reason why a defense obiltered my offense to attack a wounded guy, sharks never smell blood in the water."

And JG sitting there getting eviserated because he had to beat a 2-0 team with a crippled team and now his QB is done for the season.

Sure we can. We beat them without him last year.

The Skins sucked then. Also Miles and Dez were in there and Witten wasn't injured. With no Romo, Austin, Dez, Felix, etc. the skins would have to completely keel over to win.

I'll go with whatever team doctor and JG decides.

I agree. Not close enough to the situation to know what the team doctors think or how Romo feels. Other QB's in the past have been able to go, my main concern is the 1st hit Romo takes how he will respond to it?

It really hinges on the doctors. If they feel he can play with no significant risk of further or greater injury then he should play. If the doctors say he can play he needs to show that he has the heart to play, and is willing to suck it up for the team. That's a message every team needs from its leaders.

Dez? Thought he was out that games as well......

I'm pretty sure he's already proven that...

it also goes with "guys even tho we lost by 40 points, i was out there playing with my heart, and we all were told heart counts for 50 points and no further injury in this sport. So even tho we all lost and probably wont be on the team next year, i can say i played this game with heart and that gets you right into Canton."

Ill let you decide.

The message you need from a leader goes as follows, "guys i will stay on the sideline and help you any way i can im not going out there to throw 5 yards in pure freaking pain thats only going to cause me to miss the rest of the season after the 300 pound lineman lands on me".

I do not have to tell you whats going to happen because i know if you were sitting around with your friends you'd be telling them how much of the football world you know. So we'll agree the better chance is at some point in the game someone not only lands on Romo but causes more damage to the other side or breaks more ribs and hes out the rest of the season and the whole Dallas fan base let out with "WHY DID GARRETT DO SOMETHING SO STUPID"

WE also concur that hindsight is not only 20/20 but has xray properties so after agreeing that was a stupid move at least we were looking at the cheerleaders.

Yes, if it's just primarily a question of pain, then Romo has an opportunity to further establish himself as a team-first guy by saying I'm going to be out there to help my team win no matter what. Such things help foster the right team environment and rallies guys to push themselves for him.

If the doctors and JG see their is too much of a risk, then he won't play ... and I'll be fine with that.

Start Kitna, if he is careless with the ball then maybe you think about putting in Romo

I can see maybe playing him for this game simply because it's a division opponent, but I'd seriously consider sitting him against Detroit, New England, and maybe even St. Louis to give him some time to heal. Get him back in time for the Eagles on October 30.

The second half schedule is shaping up a little better than it originally looked. You hate to put yourself in a hole, but even worse would be to watch this injury linger all season.

This isn't an "he can get hurt worse if he plays" issue.

I still don't understand message board fans that think they know more and know better than the professionals being paid. I'm sure Jerry, Garrett, all the trainers, and all the doctors are perfectly fine letting Romo play even though he could possibly get hurt worse or even die on the field. Thank God we have people here keeping them from overlooking the obvious danger to Romo's life if he suits up and play. No one outside of the team even knows the true nature of the injury. We've been told through the media four or five different things and none of them are probably correct. Sure, he has pain but they have ways to take care of that. You sit Romo in this game and lose and then have to face Detroit and New England. You are staring 1-4 and season over right in the face. No thanks!

this is the team Garrett went with PLUS the coaches, if he does that sling pass to the WR THAT NEVER GOES ANYWHERE he deserves all the critism he receives.

We need this game in the worst possible way, with our OL and DB situation i can't see us beating the Lions next week and going into New England at 1-3 and our season on the line is the worst possible situation to be inn. This team needs to do what ever it take to win on Monday

I'm sure it'll be fine if Kitna plays, really. At least this time he'll get all (or a lot of) the snaps this week.

Start Romo. See what he can do and cannot. Then decide to sit him and put Kitna in.
