All people heard were that he was 100% good to go and some forgot about the slow and easy part.
Exactly.
I have no doubt that he is feeling something. That is 100% normal and expected.
But saying the guy is in pain and is missing practice sessions because of that is projecting and assuming...because nobody has said that.
The thing is, if he had a tiny bit of pain, I would still fully expect it. Every player out there probably has some sort of pain right now.
But in this case, if he even feels tightening or a hint of it...not even pain or stress, he is supposed to shut it down.
They just can't be idiots and push this. They should not care at all what our timeline or the media's timeline is.
This a very FLUID situation.
They are asking him to optimize his rehab work and practice time. And they are telling him to be extra cautious (because we know otherwise he'd be out going for it when he should maybe hold back).
Training camp is no place for a franchise QB to try to be a hero.
Continue to very slowly ease him in to this throughout the entire camp.
The goal is for him to be ready on Sept 7.
BTW, I also understand why someone may be worried. It was back surgery, afterall.
