Romo susceptible to rattling? article @ ESPN, anyone have this?

The quick blitz is why RW11 needs to get on the same page this week.

The team that throws some middle screens at their blitz will tear that blitz alive. The Bears did it in week 4 against the Eagles and it worked like a charm every time, but Kyle Orton couldn't hold onto the ball on every other play. The Eagles take away the screen out wide. The screen is still there, it just has to be directed towards the middle of the field.

I haven't thought about that. Guess that's why I'm on my computer talking about it. I don't know we run that play well.

If I am picking a QB in this game to react negatively to pressure and be rattled by a pass rush, it is Donovan McNabb.

Romo does some boneheaded things, but he's not among the worst when things break down.

He's actually one of the best. Each December it always seems to me that our line starts to break down and Romo doesn't get the same clean pocket guys like Eli get week in and week out.

You're right about Donovan, he doesn't like getting beat up, and he's a very moody player. He'll score a TD and be moonwalking around the end zone, then he'll throw a pick and pout on the sidelines.

In order to turn Romo back into the turnover vending machine that was on the business end of a 44-6 whooping to close out the 2008 season, the Philadelphia Eagles have a plan: "get to him, and quick," according to what one Eagles defender told ESPN 950. Per Brian Seltzer, there's a buzz inside the Eagles' locker room that Romo does not respond well to contact, so even if they don't get in for a sack, you'll see defenders in his face quite a bit on Sunday night.

The same can be said for any quarterback in the league. The way you stop this is to make them pay when they do that. We have a few players (Miles, Felix) who can break the game open if left one-on-one.

This is where they get so many turnovers. They blitz well and often, but their corners sit on the short stuff, especially outside which is where Asante jumps so many of those. He takes lots of chances.

Hit any QB enough times and they get rattled, doesnt matter who they are. Giants beat the snot out of Brady in SB and won. Cowboys pummeled Matt Ryan a couple weeks ago, he got rattled.

Sorry, but EVERY QB can be rattled when you get consistent pressure on him.

Besides, their DC now, is nowhere as good as their late DC Johnson.

Actually, there is plenty of evidence to support that Romo responds well to contact. For example, the Atlanta game where he got his bell rung and was seen on the sideline with ice on his neck. He came out and lit it up.

Example 2...Giants game from last year where he got nailed in the back. He came out and lit it up.

Please explain to me how knocking him to the ground is supposed to rattle him.

IMO, Romo responds poorly when his guys are covered, and he loses patience and forces his throws...not when he's knocked to the ground.
