Efficient. Romo & the starting offense has been very efficient this preseason and seems content w/ moving the chains rather than forcing the big play. And with the personnel we have I think that's the way we should approach the season. Running game + short & intermediate pass plays = long drives and points! I'm sure Red has some deep hitters in his playbook but I suspect we won't see too many during the season (at least not as many as the past couple of seasons with Owens).

Romo looked very good out there. I was impressed by the way He played. But not only that the way he moved around the pocket and protected the ball better. PLus it looked like He had more speed under those throws. I didnt see as many weak lobs or touch passes. He was darting those passes with force. very very pleased with our QB:D :D

First let me apologize to everyone with sense and the Mods, but I am compelled to do this " CRAYTON PLAYED A GREAT GAME!!! DO SOMEONE HAVE TO COME AND KNOCK SENSE INTO SOME OF YOU?

Okay, that felt good, LOL Crayton is fine I have never doubted his heart or his ability, the staff just need to leave him in the slot, that is where he does his best work, true he helped us lose to the giants in a big way, but everyone drops passes, in all situations, there has never been one receiver that can say they never dropped a pass that could have put a game away or a game winning reception, well let me rephrase that some can and will say, but they would be lying, or they never were in that situation.

One observation I had was that we did not try and go deep. Mostly just perfect chain moving plays. I really liked the mix with the 1st team offense last night. Every guy got to move the chains it seemed.

We did throw a couple of deep passes in the game, two fade routes late in the first half come to mind, but both ended up out of bounds. But you are right, we weren't forcing the deep ball and just kept "matriculating" the ball down the field with a nice mix of runs and passes.

Garrett seemed to want to work certain players and would call their name a couple of times in a row, then move to someone else. That is to be expected in a pre-season game. He did use that quick out to the WRs a bit too often and I told my wife that the Titans would jump it the next time we threw it and sure enough the DB made a try for a pass to Roy but was too slow getting there.

We need to be careful to not use those types of plays too often in a regular game or they will get a pick-six on us eventually. You also have to set those plays up by sending the WR deep a few times so that the DB isn't just waiting at the LOS but is into his backpedal before he realizes that the WR isn't coming out yet.

I thought Romo did a fabulous job of not forcing the ball and just taking what was there. Roy almost caused a pick because he didn't sell his route well but again it is pre-season and that should be ironed out in a few weeks.

Great points! I love seeing how this offense is coming together without you-know-who around. We have the talent to go all the way, now we need to see if we have the heart to take us there.

Was I watching the same game? Because I saw Crayton play very well at WR when he was out there. He had a good catch on Third down, twice... one of which I could of sworn he had the first down.
Ditto that. Crayton looked very good. He even had a nice juke on that end around, which is a rarity for Crayton. If he's our #2, I'm happy. If he's our #3 because someone else is better, I'm ecstatic.
