Romo : Two independent parties

Listening and watching the PC yesterday - it didn't feel ridiculous in the sequence.

I understand your point, but come on.

Parcells just compared him to Rutledge and Cavanaugh and you want a reporter to follow that up with a question of whether Romo can beat out a guy who's a former #1 Draft pick, Pro Bowler, 2 time AFC Championship game winning QB, All-Time Top 5 statistical NFL QB and one of Parcells favorite players? Think about it a minute....

Some people are worse than the French. They thought nobody could defeat the Maginot Line because nobody had ever done it before -- or even shown they thought they could. Certainly not the Germans. They couldn't even imagine it until it happened. But here, someone has already shown it can be done. Romo, without better experience, is at least as likely to oust Bledsoe as was Brady at the time, without better experience. Is he likely to be given a real opportunity to do it in a real game unless Bledsoe goes down? Not likely, but just because you have not been given an opportunity to do it does not mean you couldn't do it if you were. Because Parcells thinks he can do it, Romo has a better chance of being the long term answer for Dallas than Bledsoe does, no matter Bledsoe's superior experience.

Didn't I say there is no chance?

But the question, IMO, should have been asked.

If you and I were at the PC together, I'd be elbowing you and saying..."No, You ask him..." :)

The problem here is Romo. Will he patiently wait? I don't know that he will if the opportunity comes knocking with a chance to compete for a starting position somewhere around the league.

At this point, it's really too early to comment one way or the other. Romo has to play well and we have to make decisions based on his play.
