While the Dallas media(JJT) jumps on Romo for not looking sharpe, has anyone watching Manning play this preseason? The G-Men, the popular choice to win the east, look terrible. And Manning's stat line from last night, 9-21 , 91 yards with 1 pick and a QB rating of 52. Those are the numbers only his mother could love. I still dont get all this league wide lovefest for the younger Manning. With the exception of the 5 games at the end of the 2007 season, he's been average at best. Time to give Romo a break as he could be the best QB in the NFC East.

How on earth could anyone say Romo hasn't looked sharp this offseason? Surely JJT wouldn't say something THAT stupid.

Anyone with common sense will tell you that Romo is the better of the two QB's...

I agree, just amazed that the so called "experts" always pick Manning over Romo. :bang2:

From his article this morning:

"Tony Romo, like the team, was ragged. He led Dallas to only one touchdown in four possessions, which is hardly the way you want to storm into the season."

JJT is an idiot.

Steve Smith dropped a stat padder.

I like how Babe Laufenberg made it a point that outside of Manning and Brady that he believes Romo is the best after those 2.

86.5 rating- the only time he has been over 80 his whole career was last year. He faded late in the year but you did not hear about it like you did with Romo. Romo meanwhile has not had a year below 90. And his completion percentage is much better then Eli's= last year was the first one that Eli was over 60% and just barely. Since Eli has had a very good team most of his career and has started four full years plus part of his rookie year it could be argued that last year might have been his career year.

I'll take TR over Eli but-
I watched the gnats vs jets game replay on NFLN and Eli threw a perfect deep ball that hit Smith in the hands and he dropped it. He was gone had he caught it and it would have been big.
On the INT the pass hit Hixon in the hands, bounced off and was caught on a good hustle by the jets I don't see that as Eli's fault at all.
Having said that, I hate the gnats and hope we sweep them this year like we almost did in 07.

Manning is a piece of crap. And unlike his cool bro...his directv commericals and acting skills suck.

Dude has no personality. Plus he looks like a ******.

And Bennett dropped a nice ball by Tony that would have added to his stats.

Look. I wouldn't take Eli over Tony. Not many QB can do the things Romo can do and he's great. But every saying Eli sucks etc.. based on his rating need to watch the game and they might get a different opinion. (of how he's playing right now)

Yeah in the preseason. He started out real well last year and faded down the stretch. Last year was by far the best stat year he has ever had and frankly I doubt he will do any better if as well again.

as long as everyone in the meadowlands is happy with having a below average to mediocre QB at the helm, the happier I am

Think he looks more like a deer in the headlights he's not very bright. If his last name was not Manning, he prolly playing in CFL.

i think both romo and manning are great qbs. manning is a better game manager. he has a knack for making the crucial throws that win games. he also has won the big games that romo has not. i glad we have romo but sometimes he takes to many chances and it has hurt us. i saw a little of the out of control romo last night when he should have had two interceptions instead of the one. romo does look better at holding the ball inside of the pockett this year. i hope romo turns the corner this year and leads us to a playoff win.
