Romo vs. Manning

Just like all the other tony jock-riders in here, you say "stats don't matter" and then turn around and say "look at the stats" when they suit you. Also, blaming everyone else for the poor play on offense. Since you now want to "Look at the stats", let's look at the stats that matter.

Dallas with Romo - 0 playoff wins
NY in the same timeframe - Super Bowl Champs

In the month of December (and including playoff appearances) from 06-08, Eli Manning has 24 TD passes vs. only 14 INTs.

Turns out it wasn't pretty for Romo.
Brad Johnson >>>> Dan Marino >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tony Romo

Steve Smith dropped a stat padder.

I like how Babe Laufenberg made it a point that outside of Manning and Brady that he believes Romo is the best after those 2.

Yeah he did. That was a BIG drop.

Dallas lost to the Giants for the same reason the Patriots did, the Giants Dline dominated the LOS and kept their offense in the game.

Didnt Barber rush for over 100 yds in the first half alone? Thats hardly dominating DL play. Likewise, Romo was hardly touched until about the mid way pt of the 4th qtr.

Eli is a bus driver compared to Romo.

Not sure whether he is a bus driver or not, but Romo is the better player IMO, and there's no way I'd take Manning over him.

no different than you haters....you wanna use stats but not all his stats just the bad ones......you say "the stats that matter".......they all matter ..playing well in Dec does no good unless you played well enough the previous months to put your team in contention and Romo has done that.....Romo has CARRIED this team to many wins.......Eli is a bus driver ...no more.....and before you start rambling about how well he manges games....lets talk about the 3 passes he bounced off patriot jerseys in that SB that the Pats didnt int....if they would have it would have been a blow out......their SB run was a defense that locked down the top 3 offenses that year in their playoff run.....if not for the Giant D .....Eli would have had to match points with Boys, Packers and Patriots...and he wouldnt have done it

I agree, just amazed that the so called "experts" always pick Manning over Romo. :bang2:

"Manning has won a SB and Romo has yet to win a playoff game". That's their only argument in favor of Manning. Nimrods! :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

And you cherry pick stats to suit what you want.

You are so out of touch with reality that you compare Quincy to Romo?

That's like me comparing Akili Smith to Carson Palmer and saying they are a lot alike. It is insane.

I'm not an Eli hater. He isn't a terrible QB... but he isn't nearly as good a QB as Romo. Their head-to-head record is slanted big time in favor of Romo. However, like I said that Romo wasn't responsible by himself for the Decomber struggles... Eli isn't responsible for his head-to-head record against Romo. His team has let him down somewhat in our matchups.

I take it you don't listen to Sirius NFL radio. It's a Eli lovefest. :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

Eli has a ring, Romo doesn't.....ding ding ding....something rattling around in your head, you have extra homework

Trent Dilfer has a ring. Dan Marino does not. So would you take Dilfer over Marino? Winnng a SB is a team accomplishment. Giants got hot and won. Romo did not lose that game, the DALLAS COWBOYS did.

If you had to start an NFL team and had to choose between Eli and Romo, who would you pick?

Easy.

Romo.

Eli is better at taking care of the ball. In December and in the Playoffs that is incredibly important.

No he is not. When you're defense is shutting down the opponent and your ground game is clicking, you don't have to make as many plays and take as much risk.

Taking care of the ball is no more important in Dec than it is in Sept. Dec wins mean don't mean jack if your start the month 2-10!

Tony Romo career starts 39 32fumbles 12lost

While the Dallas media(JJT) jumps on Romo for not looking sharpe, has anyone watching Manning play this preseason? The G-Men, the popular choice to win the east, look terrible. And Manning's stat line from last night, 9-21 , 91 yards with 1 pick and a QB rating of 52. Those are the numbers only his mother could love. I still dont get all this league wide lovefest for the younger Manning. With the exception of the 5 games at the end of the 2007 season, he's been average at best. Time to give Romo a break as he could be the best QB in the NFC East.

Given the fact that his mother also loves Peyton, I don't think his mother would even be loving those numbers. :laugh1:

Touchdowns per start:
Manning: 1.38
Romo: 2.08

Yards per start:
Manning: 206
Romo: 271

Bus drivers are nice people.

Id rather have the Bus Driver in December and in the playoffs. I like Tony I think he is a very good QB. I just don't like the fact that he is turnover prone when the games get tougher and more important.

Hey, man. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions. If you like Eli better as a QB than Romo, so be it. Just don't actually try to make the argument to other rational human beings, because it just makes you look ridiculous.

I look ridiculous because I'd rather have a bus driver in the playoffs which has proven to win you a Super Bowl, over a guy who hasen't won a playoff game yet? ok man whatever you say............

So Diaf and adzrne7, you are saying Dilfer was the better qb than Marino? At least that is what you say and twist stats to make it seem like Eli is a better qb than Romo. Eli turned around and handed the ball off and won his ring off his D, he's a bus driver at best.

a great QB will win more than a bus driver ...thats whats proven...

every team who has ever won a SB with a bus driving QB has something Romo hasnt had yet....a dominating Defense.....with that you can sit back and let everyone else take control.....Romo hasnt had that luxury .....
