Romo was one main reason for the loss but lets not go overboard...

Scoring a TD is NOT the point....a FG would have made this a TWO possession game with a little over 6 minutes to play....NOT making it in and having to kick the FG makes it a 10 point lead with even FEWER time remaining....This is what an OC needs to keep in mind. Sometimes TD's are NOT the most important thing to get when that close and time is a factor....remember the eagle that took a knee at the one when he could have easily scored a couple of years back? He realized that time was more important.

Exactly! Going up 2 scores on an offensively challenged team is what you are supposed to do there. Run Run Run. And in doing so you run clock.
Kick the FG and the jets have less than 6 minutes to score 2 times. Senseless.

Crucial mistakes by Romo, but I swear JG sets him up for failure. Why is DEZ on the field if he can't run. Rink shouldn't ha e thrown the ball to him... But that was a horrible route. I believe Romo was expecting him to cut the route off in front of Revis. Bryant didn't make much effort...

I have no problems with Romo's play tonight aside from the incomprehensible Revis pick. It was so bad that if Romo is ever accused of game fixing, I would believe it.

This was not a game I expected to win. This team is not good enough/deep enough to take a Conference Champion type team down and let them get off the mat again.

Special teams didn't do enough. The defense didn't do enough. The offense didn't do enough. Dez's injury, Scandrick's injury, and the foulup on the punt were huge too. At least we lost to a better team, unlike last year's opener.

I think the D played well they only gave up 17 pts with 3rd and 4th string corners playing. Not only that they gave our O 7pts when Lee returned the ball to the one They also put our O in a position to win the game this loss is not on the D at all

Nah, no need. Lets us have that extra kicker.

You mean a kicker who didn't even kick it to the goal line at least twice? Or was that by design?

Witten has always had a tendency to play what some consider smart football. He is very good at gaining additional yards but at the same time he seems to run out of bounds a little too often, especially when the situation calls for him fighting a little harder. Love the guy and he is tough as hell but I agree that he should of bulldozed that turd.

We have plenty of talent, we have the players. It's why we always hear about how we look great in practice, why we can look so good for most of games. Our failure continues to be when it matters most. The team that played the first three quarters is Super Bowl worthy. We didn't put different guys out there in the 4th, they just shrink from the moment. We don't play the same with the game on the line. I don't know how you change something that seems to be so ingrained mentally. And every time it happens, it gets worse.

I wish we had just lost 28-10 or something.

Why not? You've got three chances? Do we need a real fullback?

We need a bigger, stronger offensive line if we want a power running game. A real fullback wouldn't hurt though.

Witten should have fought for the TD on that big play and Romo's late INT screwed us. Punt block is why we lost the game though.

on the Witten pone I even yelled "WHY!" he should have fought for that TD. No excuse.
The word that comes to mind for me is "opportunistic" Witten should've run right through that defender or at least tried to do a small cut back to try to get to the end zone.

I did not like us going in to a shot gun on 2nd and goal, even if you were going to run a passing play, at least make them think you're going to run it.

Dez should've been out of the game when he was hurt, but then I could hear it now had we lost anyways, "Dez is a wimp, he's injury prone, he should suck it up" but when he's there and can't run, we still get upset about it.

I thought Murray was dumb for bringing the ball out of the end zone when it was caught at the back of the end zone. Those are just a few plays that were opportunistic and we didn't take advantage of them.

A blocked punt? Seriously? How often does that happen? Just one thing after the next. Penalty after penalty. Not even "during the play" penalties. Consecutive delay of games, then another delay of game followed by a false start, followed by a pre-snap mistake, followed by 2 receivers running routes in the same area.

Very sloppy, we truly needed those OTAs.

Did you WATCH the game? My god man, they couldn't run the ball worth a **** in the second half. I agree in theory: RUN IT IN....but alas, the patchwork line couldn't be trusted to do it. Bubble gum and chicken wire on the Oline and secondary and it showed toward the end, sprinkle in the typical Romo choke job and you have a kick in the nads loss: AGAIN.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Patchwork line? Sir, this is your new offensive line. Nothing patchwork about it.

What are you talking about?

That was a no brain decision.

If we follow that plan and take care of the football we are celebrating a W right now.

Quit acting like this is the 1st time Garrett has botched it at the goal line.

Im sick of people on here not being able to comprehend the obvious.
The funny thing is, people saw the DISASTROUS result, yet still defend it. For those of you claiming the Jets defense wouldn't allow a rushing TD, check the stats and scoring summary from the game today. You will see a TD by Felix Jones. That means he scored a rushing TD. Against the Jets. Tonight.

If ever the Cowboys would have benefitted from Parcells football, it would have been last night. Game management continues to haunt this team, no matter the headcoach. The playcalling propensities of Garrett started to show toward the end as well.

Romo might be approaching a rubicon with the Cowboys. His fourth quarter play harkened back to his earlier career. There always seems to be something not quite "elite" about Tony. It is as if the gaffe in Seattle set the tone for his entire career. I am beginning to entertain the uncomfortable notion that one of the two (Garrett and Romo) will not be part of the Cowboys when they hoist another Lombardi. It is tough on him having a young line but unforced errors can't be the reason that the Cowboys lose. That is unacceptable for him now. He did'nt do it alone but I think that the Romo of 2009 would have perserved the win last night. He'll likely be better down the stretch but what will it be worth as far as postseason is concerned? I wish him the best but the shine is gone from him now and the buffer will soon become a sander.

This sadly seems to be the case. A lot of football left, though.

Yes but when you need Romo to make the right decisions, it seems like he never does. Its the same old story with this guy. Looks great at times and then everything turns into a mess.

Yeah wow ok pal. You are so clueless, your ideas are the reason why we lost. JG has those reasons. Great coaches like JJ or BP would never go shotgun pass in that situation. We put Romo in a position to fail and he delivered.

Bill Parcells just said it best. His gift is his curse. When he extends the play and make a good play everybody says atta boy, when he extends it and something bad happens everyone wonders why that just happened.

I didn't think we would win this game, but we ended up just giving it away after out playing the Jets all night long. That makes it even worse.

It does... but at the same time it proves to me what I thought all offseason: We can hang with the top teams in the NFL. We have a talented football team... and we are only going to improve as the season goes along.
