Romo: What does he need to do to get better?

Romo needs to protect the ball better and work on keeping his release point high, towards the end of the season it was noted he began to side arm his passes more, which was true.

I'd say I would like to see his accuracy on long balls get a little better. There were a few times last year he lost some TDs because he overthrew the deep ones. Granted, it was his first two months as a starter, so hopefully it will get better.

Be more decisive.

A lot of bad plays seemed to result last year when Romo pulled the ball down and ran with it, then changed his mind and threw it, or pulled up and thought about throwing, but then decided that running really was the best option, and by then it was too late. If you've gone through your reads, and you snapped the ball 4 or 5 seconds ago, either run or throw it away. We've got a great punter and good defense. We can play field position with anybody.

Option #3 - throw it out of bounds

And that's not always possible.

You'd prefer to take an intentional grounding penalty if he's still in the pocket? Or possibly fumble when being hit while trying to throw it away?

Sometimes it is better to take the sack, pick yourself up, and move on to the next play.

Da punk has spoken, and it is good.

Must be that head trauma rearing it's ugly .... whatever.

Romo will be fine...should become more consistent over time...does not need to be the hero. We should have a very good passing game and an average running game this year (next year we can upgrade running game).

If our defense can keep opposing teams to less than 17 points per game we should go deep in the playoffs.

Wow!

His accuracy while moving?

To me Romo is one of the most accurace QB's I've ever seen while scrambling. I'm shocked that you would suggest that he isn't accurate or at least less accurate than others at the position.

I agree with you on this one. That has always seemed to be his strongest asset. I think some of what happened towards the end of last year is that he seemed to stay in the pocket more and more which I think he needs to go back to his strength and that is his mobility. More rollouts, especially playaction qb rollouts.

I agree. I think Romo will get better as he gains experience. The team asked a lot out of Romo last season, I don't know how many times I saw him facing 3rd and long and was able to make the play to convert the 3rd down. I think if we can do a better job rushing the ball Dallas can keep themselves in a more manageable down and distance and will also lead to bigger plays down field. I also agree the defense has to step up so that we are not playing catch up as often

Romo should improve his stroke play so that he can make more cuts...
