announcers were implying that he gets really tense during key moments and takes too many practice swings. pressure does seem to get in his head. good for him to pull this off though. I was rooting for him.
I've seen a lot of pros do that too. Golf is the ultimate head game, that's why so many players get the yips.

Hey, he beat Annika Sorenstam! She came in 4th.

I have seen him play in this tournament a number of times. This is his 3rd win. It's a bunch of wannabe golfers, but a win is a win and shooting 69 on any golf real course is a major accomplishment for a golfer.

A few years back when he was going for his first win, all he had to do was par the last hole. He hit his drive long and in the fairway and had a simple 7 iron for his approach to the green. He hit a pull hook into the water! He bogeyed the hole and came in 2nd! At the time I remember thinking it was typical for Romo.
Beating Sorenstam is a brag worthy feat!

it would be for us. Anika is no longer the beast she was. Shes still good but no longer a dominant golfer. If tony gets out consistantly I can see him beating alot of ex pros. hes very talented.

I'd like to see Lorena Ochoa get back in the game. She was a great player, and seemed like an even better person.

Romo, like Dak today, was inconsistent, and I mean as in leadership in the playoffs or lack of it.
I recall mediocre seasons with Romo, and when he got to the playoffs, he was ...well, old boy, a failure and certainly not Super Bowl material as you proclaim. Here is what SportsFanfare concluded re Romo.

"In his career, Romo has played in 5 Divisional Round games and 4 Conference Championship Games. Unfortunately, the Dallas Cowboys QB has a 3-2 overall record in those games but he’s never been able to win a Super Bowl with them. In both of his NFC Championship Game appearances against the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers, Romo was unable to lead his team past those opponents. In this year’s Conference Championship loss, Romo threw a costly interception that led to the Packers’ winning points by way of a field goal. He finished the game with 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in total."

Then there was Mr. Bobble in Seattle. Tear our me heart, Tony!

Face it, we have nor have an elite QB since 1998.
But one of these days we shall, and our wrath will be known in the NFL!
Party pooper has arrived! Whatever would we do without ya.

Sorenstam retired almost a decade and half ago.
Announced in May 2008 that would be her last year playing competitive golf; her last tournament was in December of that year.
Sorenstam was inactive in competitive golf until she turned 50 in 2020 and became eligible for the women's senior tour.
Sorenstam won the 2021 U.S. Senior Women's Open.
It qualified her for this year's U.S. Women's Open, in which she played, but missed the cut at 13-over.
