Uhhh, no, he would have not.

Read several comments on various threads insinuating as much. How quickly people forget Romo's last performance vs the Panthers on Thanksgiving Day 2015.

Romo's start to the game...

Romo's overall game performance...

How quickly people forget.

Let's stop with the "Romo would have performed much better than Dak today vs the Panthers" talk. Romo is retired for a reason. The game would have finished much worse behind today's Romo...or Orange Crush or Mike White.

Let's be a little patient and give Dak and this Offense time to make adjustments and perform better. It was barely Week 1 against a very good Panthers Defense and team in their house. The game was almost tied late in the 4th.

Bring on the Giants.

The endless diatribe of Romo haters continues to plague the forum. Dak is turning out to be a joke as a QB and can only operate as a run and shoot hack.
Romo was a thinking man's QB who didn't have much help until he got older and age started to take its toll. SAD!

The Panthers were 15-1 That season with a Stacked defense. Romo was coming off 3 days rest with a still fractured collar bone
Based in this same philosophy I'm not counting out Dak just yet. Carolina looks like they have a dominant defense again.

The Legend of Tony Romo has people believing Romo would carve up the 85 Bears or the 2000 Baltimore Ravens defenses if only he had an opportunity to play them .

Let’s roll out the excuses carpet for Romo against the Panthers instead of just saying he sucked that day:

1. He was brought back too early.
2. He only had 4 days rest
3. DMC missed a block.

Panthers just punched him and the Cowboys in the mouth and prior to the game there were many people with high hopes that Romo was going to lead the team to a long winning streak to end the season and make the playoffs. He was going to save the season, much like in 2016 he was going to hoist the Lombardi if only he could play.

But that didn’t happen so the excuses must be used.

Not completely healed, rusty, coming off a rough game 3 days earlier, stacked panther defense, etc etc.
The same could be said for Dak. Dak was rusty since he didn't play in the last 2 preseason games and didn't get to gel with his new batch of receivers because of it, played the game with an injured ankle sustained early in the game, did not have good pass protection, was pressured more than 17 times and sacked 6 times, etc, etc.

Yet Dak never threw pick 6s or interceptions behind good pass protection against the Panthers the way Romo did in 2015 (his last time to play pretty much this same Panthers D).

Youd think this would be obvious, but I guess not

Look I had great respect for TR when he was our QB. But the Romo worship around here is almost becoming Chuck Norris-esque. You know, the funny, super human jokes of Norris’ “powers”. I fully expect someone to start posting things like...

  • When the boogie man goes to sleep at night, he checks his closet for Tony Romo.
  • Tony Romo uses pepper spray to spice his steaks.
  • When Tony Romo throws a football, a championship window opens.
Etc, etc.
Romo deserves to be in the Cowboys ROH. But he also deserves to be human. He was an excellent QB, but an excellent QB who is gone.

I liked Romo. He was a good QB, not great. He did have a habit of playing poorly in big games and making some boneheaded mistakes. The bigger mistake, however, was poor personnel evaluations which made us fail to put the team around him to take it all the way.

Um, he was a great QB. Not legendary, but he was great.

Yes, this is normally how it goes when you have a QB that was top 10 throughout his career and even top 5 a few years. He deserves this kind of praise.

QBs like him do not come along often.

He carved up many great defenses - 2011 he was one of the only QBs to have a great day against the 49ers and he had a great day against the legion of boom.

And those excuses for Romo against the Panthers are valid - he missed multiple weeks and came back while not 100%. Did you see Rodgers against the Panthers last year when he returned, how did that go?

Go back to your hole.

He carved up that 2009 Minnesota defense, right? Lol

Oh, and to answer your question about Rodgers, he sucked that game. See how easy that was? No excuses. That isn’t in the Romo lovers aresenal. Have no idea how to just admit that.

Enjoy your Romo wet dream.
