Romo would have played better than Dak vs Panthers

If that were true, than what happened to those ten QB studs after Aikman & before Romo?
That wasn’t my point. Those guys you’re talking about didn’t even make the playoffs. I’m saying there are quite a few NFL QBs that have won at least two playoff games in their career. Look at Nick Foles last year. He’s probably not as good as Romo, but he’s already won 3.

Here’s my point: finding a QB that can win playoff games isn’t as hard as building TEAM that wins playoff games.

I had no confidence that we’d score against Carolina. I didn’t a week before the game and I still didn’t as I walked into Bank of America Stadium.

I heard all offseason about the receivers and how they wouldn’t be able to get open and all that jazz. I heard about the coaching staff, who I also have issues with, not being able to put a plan together to move the ball.

We didn’t score for the reason I and many have been concerned about for awhile now. Our quarterback couldn’t throw the ball down the field. Our receivers got open and our coaching staff had plays dialed up to go down the field. Dak Prescott didn’t make the throws and was hard to watch when he tried.

We knew the panthers were going to stack the box. LOL they did it almost 60 percent of the time. We couldn’t score because our Quarterback played exactly how many thought he would.

Romo had bad games and plays but I never had the expectation of offensive suckage before a game with him at the helm like I did before the game Sunday.

It is what it is.

How about his first career NFL start? How quickly people forget. :p

Ironically, Romo's first career NFL start was against Carolina and his last career game as a starter was against Carolina. The last game is the one my friend picked to rag on Tony lol.

For the record, Romo completed 24 of 36 passes for 270 yards and a touchdown in his first career NFL start with a 35-14 win against Carolina. So there. :muttley:
I hear ya, sis! lol

This thread is for those who still say that Romo TODAY could still play better than Dak. I laugh at that nonsense, because we all know Tony's body TODAY would not make it through a whole game getting hit as much as Dak has been lately.

That is all. ♡

People like to think of Romo in his prime and ignore the shell of his former self he became in the end. Fragile can't do better than Dak today. Tony knew time had caught up to him, that's why he gave up playing the game.

Actually, what I generally see is that Romo is either underrated or overrated by fans.
This is it , There is one group that magnify every mistake he ever made and there is another group that try and build him into some legendary status that he never achieved .
Tomo Romo was a very good QB who had some opportunities to win a championship but sure could have used a few more. His mistakes always seemed more memorable to the media then his achievements .
His fans will say he gave us a chance to make the playoffs in all those 8-8 seasons his detractors will say he kept us from making them .
There will always be a love hate relationship between Tony and all of Cowboy nation

I'd take a 57 year old Tony Romo fresh out of back surgery at this point. lol Can he play better? Who knows?? As of right now the guy starting looks like a backup QB and that's a problem. I think the team has to find a better long term solution. The Romo vs Dak debate means nothing.

I disagree. Romo would have continued playing for Dallas if he had been allowed to return as the starter. His desire was overruled.

In my opinion, Romo loved playing for the franchise (much more than generally accepted or acknowledged) and did not foresee playing with the same passion elsewhere. That, and the greater opportunity of enjoying his other passion, golf, much more often and the challenge of network broadcasting within his sport he had devoted much of his life, were enough considerations to leave his playing days behind.

Which is the likely reason that neither Houston or Denver were willing to trade even a 7th round pick for him. That, plus his contract. But if they really thought he was truly committed to them, they would've managed to make the contract work or restructure it to be the same, but different.

I think the offers were made.

He carved up that 2009 Minnesota defense, right? Lol

Oh, and to answer your question about Rodgers, he sucked that game. See how easy that was? No excuses. That isn’t in the Romo lovers aresenal. Have no idea how to just admit that.

Enjoy your Romo wet dream.

That defensive line carved up him and the offensive line, looked like the Giants a few nights ago.

Based in this same philosophy I'm not counting out Dak just yet. Carolina looks like they have a dominant defense again.
Yet they gave up a lot to Atlanta and lost. Week 1's loss was mostly on Dak and a little on Linehan, who thought Dak was ready for what they had worked on in Camp, but was clearly wrong. Week 1 was more of an example of bad offense on our part than dominant Defense on their part.

The endless diatribe of Romo haters continues to plague the forum. Dak is turning out to be a joke as a QB and can only operate as a run and shoot hack.
Romo was a thinking man's QB who didn't have much help until he got older and age started to take its toll. SAD!

OMG, is it possible to have worse reasoning than the OP (Original Post, or Original Poster - take your pick)?

Romo did not carry the team.
Nobody has ever carried a team.
Nobody will ever carry a team.

See, you were wrong.

I agree. Carolina's defense does not look as dominant anymore.

Romo would have played better in every game that Dallas has played this year and last year. Romo can throw accurate passes, which is something that Dak is incapable of doing.
