The bickering in this thread is pointless.

Romo is the starter for the next couple of years and Orton will be relegated to clip board holder. Nothing against Orton...he did as good as you could expect him to but he's a backup and Romo is the franchise QB.

Whether you like it or not, the numbers Orton put up tonight after being off for 2 years are identical to what Romo would've put up. The moral of the story is, neither QB is the answer to going to the Super Bowl.

identical? 22 points is the fewest we scored at home all year, by a lot. we had a 27 point game, ever other one was in the 30-40 point range.

your agenda is pretty obvious

Orton is a backup who had his job taken by Tim Tebow.

Romo is our franchise, 1st string, 100 million dollar QB.

If Romo played the same game as Orton, you bet I'd be ticked with him. I'm ticked with Orton a bit, but I mean, dude is a back-up. And for the most part, he handled a lot of the little things better than Romo does.
Yeah, Orton was playing with house money. You can't really blame him.

If Romo gets hurt, say 3 weeks earlier, and Orton gets more time in the offense, I think we can maybe win a game like this with the backup. The defense did their part.

Well Romo didn't play so I'm not taking anything away from Orton he played a good game.....who knows we may have got blown out with Romo.....all I know is we are going forward status quo and the guys you need to win games make the big mistakes in big moments... I don't know what the answer is

I can only laugh at posts like this. Romo would've won it? Year after year he's had opportunities like this and failed.

He wouldn't of even been in that situation if he played, the game would've been wrapped up in the 3rd quarter. And whether you like to believe it or not, Romo has been one of the most clutch QBs in the NFL. Keep getting your facts from the media though, I find it amusing and entertaining.

You don't know that. I don't think Romo throws 2 interceptions if any.

It's all dumb speculation anyway.

Hey we did get blown out of two games this year with Romo so it's possible.

Not only won it but handily, by 17 or more points.

If Orton had not have thrown behind/underthrown Witten/Austin we probably win the game all w/o Romo.

I was very impressed with Orton out there. I'm not sure Romo does any better in that game to be honest.

I don't have an agenda. I call a spade a spade. I knew we could win without Romo. The only agenda that got smoked is how we'd get blown out every week without the 100 million dollar loser.

And of course you know for a fact Tony will never win a Super Bowl and you know for a fact the defense will get fixed and you know for a fact we will become mire balanced on offense and that there a a hundred other solutions to Tony Romo that are just hanging around waiting to take us all the way. But the reason we didn't get smoked tonight was the defense.

The difference is I wanted us to win whoever the QB was.

My bad for having that agenda.

year after year he has had to win on the road in week 17. i recall two times he has played at home on week 17, and we went to the playoffs both those years.

so I call bs on your agenda
Yes, but you're a delusional homer, so you have so much bs in your eyes you wouldn't know the truth when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys if your life depended on it.

Playing on the road? That's all you've got? Surely you've got better than that - perhaps some of Adam's meaningless stats - to prop up what would have been another Romo failure. But when it comes to Romo in the final game, we don't have to speak hypothetically. We can just look at what he's done annually when put in this position.
