I DEMAND HE BECOMES PEYTON ACCURATE!!!!!:p:

You know that Payton's career completion % is 64.4 right? So all this hand wringing is for .8%? Stop going off perception and look at reality. (I know you are half kidding but that means you're half serious too!)

This is off-topic, but I wonder how often Steelers fans question just how accurate Terry Bradshaw really was? I remember the guy making some pretty good throws, hitting guys in the numbers, but many times I would watch him just fling it.

My eyes saw that. My eyes also see his 51% career passing percentage (the dreaded stat reference  ). Finally, my eyes have seen his four rings--two of them at the expense of my team. :banghead:

Sorry everyone. Just ranting... :eek::

Say! It just hit me! Bradshaw should've improved his accuracy!

I can remember when Steeler fans hated Bradshaw, when he took over the job at QB the guy was constantly getting booed there is the classic video of him setting behind the guard instead of the center with the guard looking around at Bradshaw.

:laugh2: Luckily for him, he had a pretty good supporting cast, even though plenty of them were 'roided up. Romo has a pretty good group around him too; and even though Bradshaw had the stronger arm, he is a better passer than Bradshaw. Guess the criticism goes with the territory.

Well that stat is not reality...It is only showing half of the story.

One would assume it would be Average yards per pass( Not including yards after the catch). Completion percentage and Interceptions. Also you can throw in the consistancy on his accuracy between games.

No doubt the Steelers were a very good team especially on defense, they allowed the Steeler offense to make mistakes and still be in a position to win the game late. I respected the Steel Curtin defense

I never said he sucked.I said he has some accuracy issues. He always did to a degree.

There are times when Romo definitely makes some bad throws, but the fact that he is 63.6-percent career passer tells me his accuracy is a nonissue.

Last year, his accuracy was down comparatively, but he is on par with Drew Brees during most of Brees' best years (67.5 in 2007 being the exception), and is better than most.

I'm not blasting you over this because there is always room for improvement, just saying that what Romo has shown accuracywise is very good in comparison to most QBs ... and it's really, really good when you look at his numbers in the second half of games.

winning a title cures EVERYthing. look at the manning boys. peyton goes from choke artist to elite qb. eli goes from someone that giant fans wanted to be done with to "deserving" his new contract. fact is no matter how good romo is (and he IS already good) he will have something for people to criticize until he brings the lombardi home. all his faults at that point will be untouchable and forgotten even if he has the worst game of his life and the rest of the team bails him out (read big ben's first SB).

Romo's is 63.6.

Brees' completion percentage is greatly inflated by the number of passes he throws behind the line of scrimmage. Since 2002 (the splits aren't available for Brees' rookie season, when he went 15-for-27), Brees has thrown a whopping 21 PERCENT of his passes behind the line of scrimmage. In comparison, Romo has thrown only 12 percent of his passes behind the line. Romo, though, has a better completion percentage behind the line -- 83.5 percent to 76.6 percent.

Romo also has a better completion percentage on passes thrown past the line of scrimmage -- 60.8 percent to 60.4 percent.

Romo is simply better at completing passes than Brees. The only reason Brees' career completion percentage is slightly better (64.0 since his rookie year to Romo's 63.6) is because he throws so many passes behind the line. If Romo had the same pass distribution as Brees -- the same percentage of attempts behind the line, 1 to 10 yards, 11 to 20 yards, etc. -- Romo's career completion percentage would skyrocket to 66.3 percent, the highest in NFL history.

Well, the first thing we need to happen is for someone in the receiving core to get opened.

If they can managed that, then we need someone to be able to pick up a blitz, then after that we need Romo to be prepared and just do his job.

Romo did dip some in accuracy last year, but he has a knack for just making plays, and if he can just make plays and stop fumbling the ball, he can eventually break through enough to play and win in January.

You didn't see or read about the splint on his hand when he came back? It was against you guys. How could you knot be aware?

His hand was never 100% after the injury for the rest of the season.
Just more excuses for Romo. do you guys ever stop making excuses for this guy?

Can someone tell me why Brees has become a legend and Romo a villain?

You can always change the channel when his commercials come on, or be straight and stay away from gossip magazines

Romo sat out when his hand was injured.

It is so nice to have a Commander fan come here and straiten out the facts for us, bad thing is it is not correct. He played several games with a splint on his finger.
